What's even more disheartening, according to a 2020 study by the San Diego Council on Literacy, 60% of low-income students don't have a single book at home. And in low-income communities, there is only one book available for every 300 children!
This drastic shortfall of educational resources is a huge roadblock, derailing academic growth and drastically narrowing the future prospects of these kids.
