A Life Without Books

Imagine a home without books... it's hard to picture, isn't it? Unfortunately, this is the reality for many children in San Diego. What's even more disheartening, according to a 2020 study by the San Diego Council on Literacy, 60% of low-income students don't have a single book at home. And in low-income communities, there is only one book available for every 300 children!

This drastic shortfall of educational resources is a huge roadblock, derailing academic growth and drastically narrowing the future prospects of these kids.

Thank you...

Growing up, I faced the challenges of low self-esteem, anxiety, and fear. I know firsthand the despair of losing hope in life. However, I've also experienced the incredible impact of having someone who believes in you, builds your self-confidence, and guides you through life's obstacles. Thanks to a single act of kindness, I transformed from a failing junior high school student into a first-generation college graduate and now a senior tech executive. I've been blessed with opportunities, and I'm truly grateful for the chance to pay it forward to the next generation. Your invaluable support in our efforts means the world to me.
