Hi, I'm Librarian Josef Sánchez, and this initiative, The Worldwide Open Library Initiative, forms part of my professional and scholarly work and represents over two decades of cultural, educational, and technological volunteer project as part of my Master’s degree in Librarianship from the National College of Librarianship and Information Studies (UNAM, México) — one of the world's leading academic institutions for information sciences.
For years, I have carried out this work voluntarily, driven by the belief that preserving our elders' knowledge is one of humanity’s most essential responsibilities. However, to sustain and expand this global effort, I now seek support to continue this work professionally and take it to the next level. I have voluntarily founded and maintained several interconnected libraries:
Ongoing Open Libraries Initiatives:
Bioregional Library Network – www.bioregiones.org
Mayan Library – www.mayanlibrary.org
Mexican Library – www.mexicanlibrary.org
Ancestral Library – www.ancestrallibrary.org
Worldwide Library – www.worldwidelibrary.org
The Worldwide Library Initiative is a series of public and open libraries dedicated to preserving, organizing, and connecting knowledge — past, present, and future. The project integrates library science, digital preservation, AI technologies, and bioregional knowledge systems to create a living, accessible, and inclusive open library for all of humanity.
Together, these libraries create an expanding network of bioregional digital archives, each dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing knowledge from different cultural and ecological regions of the planet. The mission is to ensure that human knowledge—whether written, oral, material, or intangible—remains protected, organized, and accessible to future generations through sustainable and ethical digital stewardship.
Purpose of This Fund
Funds raised through this campaign will be used to:
• Maintain and develop the digital infrastructure of the Worldwide Library Initiative.
• Help me continue to digitize rare and unique cultural materials and manuscripts.
• Create local bioregional open libraries in collaboration with local institutions.
• Develop intelligent cataloging and AI-assisted information systems and innovate in terms of librarianship science.
• Continue academic research and publication on global knowledge preservation frameworks.
Your contribution directly supports the advancement of open knowledge, cultural continuity, and global cooperation in the digital age.
