 White Eagle is living with pancreatic cancer, and the road has become much harder than any of us believed it would be. The medical bills are accumulating from his cancer treatment and care. More recently, he experienced a serious medical crisis that resulted in a multi-day stay in the ICU and nearly two weeks in the hospital.

 He is now facing an extended period of recovery and will likely need another 2–3 weeks in a skilled nursing facility before he is able to return home.

Stand With White Eagle Through Cancer and ICU Recovery

I'm raising funds for my friend Paulino Solorzano as he faces terminal cancer. Paulino has made the deeply personal decision to prioritize quality of life instead of pursuing chemotherapy or radiation, and I want to help make sure his remaining time is met with comfort, dignity, and care.

 Paulino lives on a fixed disability income, and as his condition has progressed, he has needed more support at home. He should not have to face this stage of life alone or worry about how to cover basic daily needs. Right now, the need is urgent so we can begin putting care in place without delay.

 These funds will help pay for the practical support Paulino needs, including food for him and his seven dogs, compensation for caregivers and companions who can sit with him and help coordinate his care, utilities and other basic household costs, end-of-life supplies and comfort care needs, rehoming support for the dogs who cannot stay with him, and life celebration expenses.

 Paulino's dogs mean everything to him, and part of caring for him is also making sure they are fed and looked after. There may also be unexpected costs along the way as his needs change, and this support will help us respond to them with care instead of delay.

<div>Vor etwa 33 Jahren gründeten meine Eltern das Geschäft 'Mundo Lindo' mit fair gehandelten Waren aus aller Welt. Sie bereisten nahezu jeden Kontinent und bekamen ihr erstes von insgesamt vier Kindern in Guatemala. Beeindruckt von den bunten und schönen guatemaltekischen Kunsthandwerken beschlossen sie kurzerhand, diese nach Deutschland zu bringen und dort zu verkaufen. Auf Märkten erwarben sie handgefertigte Waren von stets denselben Familien, die im Laufe der Zeit zu langjährigen Freunden wurden. Dadurch ermöglichten sie den oft sehr armen Händlern Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe. Zudem unterstützten sie mit ihrem Geschäft ein Projekt, das Kinder von der Straße holt und ihnen Zugang zum Schulunterricht sowie täglich warmen Mahlzeiten verschafft.

<div>Die bereits vor der Pandemie schwierigen Umstände für kleine Unternehmen wurden durch die globalen Ereignisse drastisch verschärft. Der Fairtrade-Shop meiner Eltern, der hauptsächlich vom Großhandel sowie von Märkten und Messen lebt, wurde finanziell schwer getroffen. Der Wegfall zahlreicher Veranstaltungen wie Weihnachtsmärkte und Messen, der Verlust einiger Abnehmer und die steigenden Frachtkosten bedrohten die Zukunft des Geschäfts meiner Eltern. Kurz nach Beginn der Pandemie erlitt mein Vater einen Schlaganfall, und meine Schwestern und ich mussten neben unserer Ausbildung das Geschäft am Laufen halten, da meine Mutter es nicht alleine schaffen konnte.
</div>

</div>
<div>Um das Geschäft zu retten, wurden die Kosten künstlich über Wasser gehalten. Wir mussten einen Kredit auf unser Haus aufnehmen, und Freunde versuchten, uns finanziell durch Leihgaben zu unterstützen. So wurden die Schulden immer größer. Im Sommer 2023 mussten wir schließlich den langjährig geführten Laden und das Lager meiner Eltern schließen. Die Corona-Hilfe von über 7000 €, mit der wir teilweise die Ladenmiete decken konnten, muss nun ebenfalls zurückgezahlt werden.

<div>Unsere Mutter ließ sich jedoch nicht unterkriegen. Mit 59 Jahren fasste sie all ihren Mut zusammen und schlug einen ganz anderen Weg ein. Sie machte eine Umschulung zur Integrationsbegleiterin und begann ein neues Kapitel in ihrem Leben. So arbeitete sie Anfang 2022 für einen gemeinnützigen Verein, der durch viele tolle Projekte geflüchteten Menschen hilft, sich in Deutschland zu integrieren. Sie war erfüllt, und wir waren unglaublich stolz auf unsere Mutter.
</div>

<div>Jedoch folgte wenige Monate später der nächste Schicksalsschlag: Meine Mutter bekam die Diagnose Brustkrebs. Wir hofften, dass eine Operation und Chemo ausreichen würden, aber bei genauerer Untersuchung fanden die Ärzte heraus, dass der Krebs bereits in Knochen, Leber und Lymphknoten gestreut hatte. Die anfänglich kleine Hoffnung war zerplatzt. Obwohl es meinem Vater gesundheitlich langsam besser ging, gaben die Ärzte unserer Mutter maximal fünf Jahre restliche Lebenszeit. Das war ein großer Schock für uns alle.

<div>Die Chemo schlug jedoch überraschend gut an, und es konnten keine Tumore mehr festgestellt werden. Wir hatten wieder Hoffnung, und die Ärzte sprachen von einer Remission, nannten sie 'das Wunder vom Krankenhaus'. Wir waren unglaublich froh über die gewonnene Zeit mit unserer Mutter. Sie fasste neuen Mut, entschied sich zu ihrem vorherigen Job als Integrationsbegleiterin zurückzukehren und wurde nach wenigen Monaten sogar befördert.
</div>

</div>
<div>Anfang Dezember 2023 fuhr ich mit meiner Mutter und den Bewohnern der Geflüchtetenunterkunft, in der sie arbeitet, zu einer Bildungsreise nach Berlin. Wir feierten dort ihren 61. Geburtstag und hatten einen wunderschönen Tag - sie war endlich wieder glücklich. Am Tag nach ihrem Geburtstag hatten wir alle eine Besichtigung des Bundestags mit einer Kuppelbesteigung geplant. Dort erlitt meine Mutter einen epileptischen Anfall und musste ins Krankenhaus gebracht werden. Nach Untersuchungen fand man über zehn Metastasen in ihrem Gehirn.
</div>

</div>
<div>Sie begann sofort mit einer Strahlentherapie. Leider muss jedoch aufgrund der Vielzahl der Metastasen ihr gesamtes Gehirn bestrahlt werden, was sowohl ihre kognitiven als auch physischen Fähigkeiten umso mehr beeinträchtigt. Zusätzlich leidet sie unter den Nebenwirkungen der Strahlentherapie und der zahlreichen Medikamente, weshalb sie eine 24-Stunden-Betreuung benötigt, die wir vier Schwestern derzeit übernehmen. Die Ärzte können uns noch keine endgültige Diagnose geben. Unser Vater konnte den Stress und die ständige Angst um das Leben unserer Mutter nicht mehr bewältigen, und wir mussten ihn kurz vor Weihnachten in eine Klinik bringen. Es war einfach alles zu viel.
</div>

</div>
<div>Wie sollen wir all diese Probleme bloß bewältigen? Mein Vater bekommt monatlich 150 € Rente, meine Mutter nun wieder Krankengeld, und da sie voraussichtlich nicht mehr in der Lage sein wird zu arbeiten, wird sie frühzeitig in Rente gehen müssen. Diese wird relativ gering ausfallen, da sie fast ihr gesamtes Leben selbstständig war. Wenn wir den Kredit bei der Bank, die Corona-Hilfe und die Schulden bei unseren Freunden nicht zahlen können, verlieren wir unser Haus. Das ist das Zuhause, in dem meine kleine Schwester geboren wurde und das seit Jahrzehnten in unserem Familienbesitz ist. Das Einzige, was unserer Familie im Moment noch Geborgenheit und Sicherheit gibt.

<div>Bitte helft uns, diese schwere Zeit zu überwinden, damit wir die Schulden unserer Eltern bezahlen können und die letzte Zeit, die wir mit unserer Mama noch haben, genießen können. Unsere Mutter braucht jetzt all ihre Kraft, und diese Existenzängste halten uns momentan davon ab, eine qualitativ gute Zeit zusammen zu verbringen. Zeit ist leider ein Luxus, den wir im Moment nicht haben.

<div>About 33 years ago, my parents founded their store 'Mundo Lindo' selling fair trade goods from all over the world. After travelling to almost every continent they had their first of four children in Guatemala. Impressed by the colorful and beautiful Guatemalan handicrafts, they decided without further ado to import these to Germany to sell them at markets. They deliberately chose to purchase handmade goods exclusively from the same families. In doing so, they were able to provide consistent support for these often-impoverished artisans trying to support the principle of helping people help themselves. This commitment transformed casual acquaintances into lifelong friends. Furthermore, they also supported a project, based in Guatemala which enables children that have to work from an early age to support their family to attend school and also provides daily warm meals thereby aiming to break a vicious cycle allowing for a brighter future. My parents aimed to make a difference in this world rather than creating a company that is solely focused on profits and they really did.
</div>

<div>Unfortunately, the circumstances, already challenging for a small business, worsened significantly due to the corona pandemic. My parents' Fairtrade shop, heavily reliant on wholesale, markets and trade fairs, suffered severe financial setbacks. The absence of numerous events like Christmas markets, fairs, and the loss of a number of clients that struggled themselves through this hard time, coupled with rising freight costs threatened the future of my parents' business. To make things worse, my father suffered a stroke shortly after the start of the pandemic and my sisters and I had to help keep the business running alongside our studies and work, as my mother couldn't manage it alone.
</div>

</div>
<div>Attempting to save the business, the costs were artificially kept afloat. My parents had to take out a mortgage on our family house and friends tried to support us financially through loans, which lead to the accumulation of debts. In the summer of 2023, we ultimately had to close the showroom and warehouse of the business that my parents had run for over thirty years. And now the COVID aid of over €7000 that they believed to be a non-repayable government grant, which partially covered the rent for the shop during a time of minimal income, needs to be repaid as well.
</div>

<div>Despite the bleak situation, our mother did not give up and at the age of 59 she started a new chapter in her life. She gathered all her courage and decided to attend a retraining programming, still holding on to her desire to help people she studied to become an integration counselor. By early 2022, she started working for a non-profit organization helping refugees to integrate into Germany through many great projects. She was fulfilled by her new job, and we were incredibly proud of our mother.
</div>

</div>
<div>Unfortunately, we can’t seem to catch a break as a few months later my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. We hoped that through surgery and chemotherapy she could be healed, but further examinations revealed that the cancer had already spread to the bones, liver, and lymph nodes. The initial glimpse of hope vanished. Although my father's health was slowly improving, doctors gave our mother a maximum of five years to live. That was a big shock for all of us.
</div>

<div>Surprisingly, the chemotherapy had a positive effect and no more tumors could be detected. We regained hope and the doctors spoke of a remission, calling my mom 'the miracle of the hospital'. We were incredibly happy and grateful for the additional time we had gained with our mother. She regained her courage, decided to return to her previous job as an integration support worker and was even promoted after a few months.
</div>

<div>In early December 2023, I accompanied my mother and the residents of the refugee facility where she works on an educational trip to Berlin. We celebrated her 61st birthday there and had a wonderful day - she was finally happy again. The day after her birthday, we all visited the Bundestag (the national parliament of Germany) where my mother suffered an epileptic seizure during the guided tour and had to be taken to hospital. After several examinations the doctors confirmed that over ten metastases were found in her brain.
</div>

</div>
<div>She immediately started radiation therapy, but due to the multitude of metastases, her entire brain had to be exposed to the radiation as opposed to treating only a localized part of the brain. The radiation is significantly affecting both her cognitive and physical abilities. Additionally, she is suffering from numerous side effects from the radiation therapy and medications, requiring 24-hour care, which my three sisters and I are currently providing. The doctors cannot give us a definitive diagnosis yet. Unfortunately our father could no longer cope with the stress and the constant fear for our mother's life, and we had admit him to a clinic just before Christmas. It was all too much for him.
</div>

<div>How are we supposed to cope with all these problems? My father receives a monthly pension of €150, my mother is now back on sick leave, and since she is expected to be unable to work, she will have to retire early. Her pension will be relatively low, as she was self-employed for most of her life. If we can't repay the loan from the bank, the COVID aid and the debts to our friends, we will lose our house. This is the home where my youngest sister was born, and which has been in our family’s possession for decades. It is the only thing providing our family with a sense of security and comfort right now.
</div>

<div>Please help us overcome this difficult time so that we can pay off our parents' debts and enjoy the time we have left with our mom. <div>I have recently been given the opportunity to work with an incredible organization, the Global Acupuncture Project, as a trainer in Guatemala from January 27th-31st, 2025. GAP is a nonprofit corporation that helps train healthcare providers in other countries where there is limited access to healthcare to use simple and effective acupuncture protocols to treat patients in their area. This is an incredible model because although going to other countries such as these and giving some acupuncture treatments and then leaving is great, however, empowering healthcare providers in the area who understand the culture and are there to give continuing treatment is even better. I have the opportunity to be one of the trainers working in Guatemala for the second series of training being given there, the first having been given in September '24. Being that I love acupuncture, have a deep desire to be of service to people, especially those with limited access to healthcare, I speak Spanish, and I enjoy teaching, this position is a great fit for me and I am so excited for the opportunity.

<div>In order to be a trainer for this trip, I have to cover the costs of the flight, which is around $500, the program fee, which is $450 and covers the cost of in-country lodging, travel, breakfast, and lunch, and a portion of the training cost. Help Grandma Janet Get a Reliable Car

<div>In April 2018, Pete was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease which led to him being placed on dialysis.  A month later, after many tests to find out what caused the kidney disease, Pete was told he had a rare disease, called Amyloidosis. The buildup of Amyloid, an abnormal protein produced in the bone marrow, can be deposited in any tissue or organ and over time cause the organs to malfunction, and essentially fail, in Pete’s case it was his kidneys.
</div>
<div>Treatment can put you into remission, but there is no cure. Since Pete’s diagnosis, he has continued to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy injections to stop the progression of the disease. 
</div>
<div>In August 2021, Pete was advised by the Kidney Transplant Team, they reviewed his medical records &amp; discussed his case.  It was determined that he was not currently eligible for a Kidney transplant at the University of Utah. Their decision was based on his currently being on chemotherapy. They would reevaluate his case when he is off chemotherapy, in remission, and have oncology, cardiology, and pulmonary clearance.
</div>

</div>
<div>In June 2023, Pete met with a new doctor at the Huntsman Cancer Institute who said the kidney transplant team wants reassurance, that if he gets a new kidney the Amyloidosis won’t damage the new kidney placing him in the same situation he is in now.  Even though his Amyloidosis levels are now low, there are still traces of the disease in his blood which poses a risk for the new kidney.  
</div>
<div>His doctor suggested a Stem Cell transplant will give the kidney team the reassurance they need to perform the actual kidney transplant Pete will need to survive and get off dialysis.  
</div>
<div>It was confirmed for him to come to the Huntsman Cancer Institute on August 10, 2023, for one week.
</div>
<div>The first step will be to have a port catheter placed in his body followed by multiple rounds of injections meant to stimulate rapid stem cell production. Then he will have a procedure similar to dialysis to filter out and store all his new healthy stem cells. 
</div>
<div>They will give him (2) weeks to heal from the port being placed in his body.  Around August 28th or so, Pete will undergo Melphalan Chemotherapy before having his stored stem cells reintroduced into his system. The hope is to eradicate all the abnormal cells and replace them with healthy ones.  Since the Melphalan chemo is so harsh on the body, Pete will be admitted to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for (2) weeks under monitoring.  At this time, his doctor advised him he will be really sick from the chemo as well as lose his hair.  
</div>
<div>After (2) weeks under monitoring, he will be moved to an inpatient housing facility.  He then can go home after (4) weeks of being in Salt Lake City, Utah, but the actual recovery from the Stem Cell transplant will be 2-3 months.  
</div>
<div>All this will be on top of his regular dialysis treatments which Pete does 3 times a week. There are many steps to this treatment but basically, his stay in the hospital will be lengthy, and his recovery will be even longer. This will be emotionally and physically exhausting, and financially draining.
</div>
<div>When asked if Pete is serious about the steps, he must take to proceed in getting a kidney transplant, his response was “Of course I am, I have a little boy that I worry about…” 
</div>
<div>  Pete usually likes to extend help, rather than ask for it, but in these difficult times, he must reach out for support. If there is anything you can do to help, your generosity will not go unnoticed. Even a simple share can have a great impact. <div>Unlike many other tribes that were influenced by the "Yaras" (White people), the Noke Koi still preserve their traditional ways and only a few speak Portuguese – their native tongue is Nokevana and <strong>it is spoken by everyone in the tribe.</strong>

<div>They work with different plant medicines and are widely known as the original people of Kambô, which is used for healing various illnesses among their people.

<div>The village is beautiful and it’s surrounded by Samaumas (their sacred tree, known as the Mother of the Forest).

<div>It has a wonderful center to receive visitors, which was built through donations in 2021. It includes a maloca (ceremony space) as well as 17 houses with beds and shared bathrooms.

<div>Paulino was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January. Severity for this kind of cancer is measured on a Gleason scale from 2 to 10, on which he is a 9. And it is type 5, the most aggressive. With lots of financial support, he went to the Gerson Institute in San Diego, to have an on-site doctor-supervised cleanse and ketosis reset. But his PSA numbers continue to rise, which continues to be of great concern.

<div>Doctors are telling him that he needs further testing, which may lead to surgery the next day to remove his prostate. He and his many supporters are praying for those doctors to determine that the surgery is actually not needed. But funds need to be in place so it can happen if necessary. He has a date scheduled for all this at the Mayo Clinic in late August, and the surgery cost that must be raised is over $77,000, plus the charges for the hospital stay.

<div>On Tuesday afternoon Nov. 30th 2021, Alexandra Lovett was informed that her mother Jimmi Lovett and her grandmother Sue Lovett's bodies had been found in the home they shared for many years. Jimmi was the primary care giver for her mother whom had some health issues and was also blind. Jimmi was diabetic and appears to have suffered diabetic coma and passed away Sunday evening, followed by her mother Sue within hours.

<div>Upon finding out Alex had to inform her sister Victoria who resides in Boston and had already planned a trip home in Klamath Falls Oregon for Christmas. Alexandra and Victoria now are planning a funeral and burial for both their mother and grandmother.

<div>My husband Michael and I took the first flight we could get here to be with our daughter Alex and her sister Victoria whom will be coming soon, to help out with all that they have to take care of suddenly. This fundraiser is one of the first things I am doing to help them cover the tremendous costs they now have to cover. A few of Alex's friends have arrived here at Jimmi and Sue's house today to help us begin the process of clearing everything out. We hope to have this done as soon as possible so they do not have to pay rent for this house.

<div>I have organized this campaign on behalf of my brother, Matthew Todd Sato, who has been through one of the most intensive and astonishing medical ordeals I have ever witnessed. In August 2021, Matthew was unwell with stomach pain for three weeks and eventually became unable to eat much or to even go to work. The sickness escalated until he went into emergency surgery for a perforated colon and advanced peritonitis. He was taken into St. Vincent’s Hospital in Santa Fe, NM on September 1st.
</div>

<div>In the procedure, part of Matthew’s colon was removed and the remainder was reattached to his intestinal system. Unfortunately, the connection point soon broke loose and he was catapulted into a second emergency surgery as fecal matter had again leaked into the peritoneal cavity. He then received several subsequent procedures to flush the area and attempt to mitigate the infection. Matthew’s stomach was left open for several days, closed again, and then reopened as the infection continued to hold.
</div>

<div>These ups and downs continued for another two weeks without any great signs of improvement. It seemed like an endless parade of one step forward, two steps backward. The infection kept on. His blood pressure skyrocketed. His breathing was labored. Matthew began to seriously question whether he should continue to live in his declined and stagnated condition.
</div>

<div>On one particular day, we all felt he might be leaving us and departed the hospital tearful and torn. Miraculously, that same night, Matthew had what could be described as a near death experience. His soul was taken on a journey of the most extraordinary nature. The following morning, I went to visit Matthew and he described the journey in great detail. As he spoke, I was greatly comforted by his renewed presence. His entire being looked transformed and radiant. I had never before heard him speak much about spiritual matters. But, in this case, he reported every intimate detail of what happened in spirit that would allow him to continue living. He said there were legions of sick people surrounding him, yet he was brought to the front of the group to be doctored. He didn’t know exactly why, but he knew for certain that a healing was given to him.
</div>

<div>From that day, he began to progress. Because he now desired to live, he actively worked with the surgeons and nurses to mutually find the right way forward. Amazingly, Matthew began to taper off of the pain medications. Slowly, the infection stabilized and the antibiotics were reduced. And eventually, the surgeons felt they could close his stomach for good. Through the many procedures, Matthew’s abdominal wall had become so compromised that a skin graft was necessary to complete that closure.
</div>

<div>Every day for these five weeks, our family along with Matthew’s loyal partner Morgan, has been by his side. On September 28, he was released from the intensive care unit and brought into the regular care ward. And, on October 5th, he finally left the hospital and returned home. Matthew is overjoyed to be back in a normal living environment. And he is now sitting up, taking some steps, and eating little bits at a time.<br /><br />

<div>To me, he has become a new person, one who for certain is in need of healing and regeneration but one who also now carries a deepened understanding of life, death and the greater purpose of it all. This crisis has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever seen a human being endure. It has been excruciating for Morgan and for our family. And yet the constant flow of presence and prayer that we have all maintained while surrounding Matthew has turned this crisis into a blessing. We have come together heart to heart in ways some families might never experience.

<div>Matthew is the middle child of three siblings. I am the eldest and our youngest brother is Stephen. When we were very young--ages 5, 3, and 1  respectively--we lost our father suddenly. He was only 32. This tragedy entirely changed the trajectory of our family’s path. My father had brought us back to his homeland of Japan to raise us. Upon his death, we were instantly catapulted back to America with a devastated mother and we struggled to survive for years. Of course, the loss of a father is a profound lifelong wound. It has been difficult for each of us to tend to this wound. This crisis for Matthew has given us the opportunity to bring some healing among us. And we feel our healing brings a blessing to the larger Sato family in Japan and to our ancestral line.

<div>Matthew has been in an emotionally opened state for weeks, often in tears both at the difficulty of the challenge before him and the beauty of how his life was given back to him in a transfigured state. We feel he has the opportunity to remake his life and come back to a state of health and well being. To facilitate this process, he will need support. If Matthew tries to go full steam without taking the necessary time to recover and strengthen, he will certainly fall ill again.

<div>So, this is a call to the community asking for support. Matthew has not been able to work for over 2 months and will need to stay home another 3-6 months, depending on how things transpire. During that period, he needs support for monthly expenses, including very good foods and medicines as well as physical rehabilitation and positive modalities in order for his healing to be complete. It is my greatest desire to see him healthy again. It is Matthew’s greatest desire to return home, to walk and eat and eventually work again.

Matthew Sato: from near death to a reclaimed life

<p>8 years ago, Michael met his wife Hannah and her then 4yr old daughter, Shay.
</p>

<p>They fell in love, built their relationship over the years and were married in 2017.

<p>Hannah suffered from severe migraines and her doctor recommended getting on a pharmaceutical medicine to manage them.

<p>But this medicine came with risks that were not fully disclosed to the family, which included the risk that it may stop her heart.

<p>In 2018, 4 months into her pregnancy, Hannah was at home with her daughter, Shay, when she suddenly passed away.
</p>

<p>Shay found her mother and immediately her Grandmother and Michael were called and rushed home to find their beloved Hannah, and the baby she was carrying, taken from them. Both Hannah &amp; the baby had passed away
</p>

<p>Michael always saw Shay as his daughter &amp; began the process of adoption in 2019.
</p>

<p>Shays biological father had left their lives before she even remembers, when she was a toddler... and during the adoption process he willingly relinquished his custody &amp; parental rights, seeing that Michael was more suited as a father to her than he was.
</p>

</p>
<p>The process of adoption was halted due to the shut down of 2020
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>At this point, the adoption process is reopened. And the state has issued a warning that they will take Shay away if steps aren't actively being taken to move through the adoption process.

<p>Unfortunately Michael &amp; Shays case is very rare. And the system is not set up to make any exceptions for the adoption process.

<p>Even though Michael has been with Shay since she was 4 and all common sense would show that he is her father... Legally, he has to adopt her through the same process as a regular adoption.
</p>

<p>It's hard enough they had to lose their beloved Hannah, but now they have to go through all the headache and hoops required for a standard adoption, which is an exhausting &amp; expensive process.

Ĥ Ɛ Ŀ Ṗ  Michael Adopt Shay

Hello Everyone. This is Sabin and Rosette. <br /><br />As you may know, our beloved elder, ThunderCloud, has been living at his current residence for over 23 years. The apartment is situated on a hill, which is all but impossible for TC to access and navigate; the apartment's location makes it difficult for people to visit, which leads to isolation; the ventilation system is old and not conducive to his physical health; and the rent has been unaffordable for a long time. <br /><br />He has been on a waitlist for a subsidized apartment since May 2016, and he recently found out he's secured a place in Market House Apartments, in Pike Place Market, downtown Seattle. TC used to read cards in the Market for decades, so he has many friends there he'll be able to see. He'll be moving in December or January -- at least we think so. The Washington state governor has imposed coronavirus restrictions that will likely impact that timeline, but we still want to prepare for an eventual move that will be essential for his overall wellness.<br /><br />This will be a big change for TC, and he'll need support on many levels over the next few months to help him through this process. We have a small care team here in Seattle that has been supporting TC, and members are committed to making his move as easy and stress-free as possible. But where we could use assistance is gathering the finances to help with the move, because moving is expensive. Especially in Seattle when you're on a limited budget. That's what this GoFundMe is for.<br /><br />We'll use the funds to buy TC items necessary for the physical move as well as furnish his new place, so when he arrives he can settle down in a space that's nurturing, comfortable and safe. Funds will help pay for moving fees and supplies, last month's rent and any potential damages at his old place, new furniture, N-95 masks and other PPE for TC and his helpers, as well as food for those assisting with the move. We imagine the move will occur over several days, and organizing and undertaking this endeavor comes with costs. Funds raised will also compensate for lost time at work, and allow us to purchase gas and new wigs. Okay, not wigs, but we do want to care for the people who are caring for him.  Any remaining funds will go to TC's ongoing and future needs, including the pursuit of services like in-home care.<br /><br />We want to say: Thank you for your help, thank you for your support, thank you for your prayers. We know TC wouldn't begin to ask for assistance, but he has done so much for so many people, it feels good to care for him when he needs it. We want to lay the foundation for him to have a healthy future and invest in his quality of life. A big part of that is to show him how much his community cares for him. ThunderCloud's Big Move

On the morning of May 31st, "GoGo" Gary Crays lost his home and its content to a house fire. Thankfully, he and Daisy, his dog, were out on a walk when the blaze started. Despite the efforts of the local fire department and forestry crew, there is nothing left of the structure. Gary is always willing to jump in and lend a hand whenever needed, now it is time for friends and family to come together in community to support his recovery from this devastating event.  Funds raised will help buy materials for a new dwelling and replace  his belongings.  Whether you can contribute $5 or $500, every little bit will help!
