Join Francis' Fight for Full Recovery
Donation protected
On March 10th, 2024, our brother Francis (Cookie, as many call him) suffered a massive heart attack at home while working with his son Michael on laying new floors. Fortunately, the family acted quickly and was able to perform CPR. Medics were able to get him to the hospital, where he would undergo emergency surgery to open his blocked artery. Francis had a complete blockage in his heart's main artery and had a brief period without oxygen to his brain. Thankfully, he survived, but the road to recovery is complicated, uncertain, and lengthy. Our hopes and prayers as a family for a quick recovery and exit from the hospital has turned into almost two months of intensive care.
Francis has just recently been moved into a rehabilitation center and is undergoing intensive physical therapy that may take months to years of recovery time. Our family still has so many questions about his recovery; his timeline is currently uncertain, but we are optimistic about the pace his mind and body need for the best outcome. His wife, Makeda, his 3 children, and our in-laws are navigating their current situation tirelessly the best they can 24/7. We are disheartened with the trauma that Makeda and children are going through seeing someone you love so much go through all of this. Makeda is currently on family leave from her job to care for Francis daily and to ensure he is getting the medical attention he needs, all while also ensuring Mikey, Nia, and Malia are also taken care of every day with their daily activities and transition to college.
Francis s making positive steps in the right direction. We need your help to cover the ever-mounting costs. Our goal is to provide Makeda and the kids the space and stability to focus on Francis without the heavy burden of all the bills that are emotionally and physically taxing on their family. Insurance DOES NOT cover all that is needed, not even close.
We ask that if you are in a place to support Francis’ family financial burden by donating to this
that would be a blessing and will go a long way for his recovery. Most importantly we ask you all for your prayers for Francis’ healing and full recovery. Thank you in advance for your love, support, and prayers. Please feel free to share and God Bless!
