Independent Water Testing on the Contaminated Fort Ord

Update: Thank you to everyone who has donated! We plan to travel to the former Fort Ord at the end of this September 2025. We've already purchased $8150 worth of air, water, and soil tests. We plan to purchase more if we receive more donations. I am paying for all my travel expenses myself, so your donations will go toward the test kits.

We are sick veterans, family members, and community members who are ill from the highly contaminated former US military base in California called Fort Ord. The members of Fort Ord Contamination and the Cancer and Illness from Fort Ord CA Facebook group are raising money to test the water and air at the former Fort Ord.

We are raising funds to do independent testing on behalf of sick veterans and sick family members who lived on Fort Ord, and concerned community members who live nearby and on the redeveloped base. We plan to test for PFAS, TCE, CT, Agent Orange and other contaminants found on the former base.

We have a database of over 1600 people who have cancer and other illnesses from Fort Ord. We want to do independent testing so the VA and other officials start to take this seriously. We know people continue to get sick.
