One of my dear friends and real life hero’s, Mark Bonsignore, lost his life on a beautiful spring day in March of last year to a drunk driver. It has taken me a long time to post about this or to find a tribute fitting for my friend.
Mark was my “work dad”. He took me under his wing at 27 years old, after he served 27 years in law enforcement, became a respected mentor for work and for life as well as a dear friend. Mark ran 5 miles at the start of every day and while he always encouraged me to join him when we traveled on work trips together, I never did.
On March 28th, I am running the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k in honor of Mark and in support of a charity near and dear to his heart, IACKids. I am forever grateful for Mark’s friendship, guidance, support and encouragement. I miss him dearly.
Please consider supporting me in my tribute by making a contribution to this wonderful cause and in memory of a true everyday hero. Thank you.
You can learn more about IACKids from Mark's son-in-law, John Butera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvzG1ks9bKs&t=6s
