Help Us Grow the Hugh Colvin Memorial Parade in Burnley
On Saturday, 13th June 2026, the streets of Burnley will once again come alive for the second annual Hugh Colvin VC Memorial Parade — and we need your help to make it bigger, better, and unforgettable.
This meaningful event honours Lieutenant Hugh Colvin, one of Burnley’s own, awarded the Victoria Cross for extraordinary bravery during the First World War.
In 2025, the inaugural parade brought together veterans, families, community members, and history lovers from across the UK — celebrating not just Major Hugh Colvin’s legacy, but the spirit of unity and remembrance that defines OUR TOWN.
Now, we’re raising funds to expand the parade in 2026 and beyond. Our vision includes:
More veterans’ groups and ceremonial units
Additional bands and music performances
Interactive historical exhibits and local youth involvement
Greater outreach to ensure national recognition
Why support? This isn’t just a local gathering. The parade draws participants from all over the UK, generating thousands of pounds for Burnley’s local economy and placing our town on the national map for community-led remembrance. Your support helps us grow an event that reflects pride, heritage, and hope — and ensures that Hugh Colvin’s story continues to inspire future generations.
Every pound raised will go directly towards staging costs, logistics, promotion, and making the day accessible for everyone.
Donate, share, or spread the word — and be part of something truly special.
Let’s honour our hero, uplift our town, and build a tradition that lasts. Thank you for your support.
