Holiday and Literacy Drive for San Jose Youth

Hi! Stephanie, Erin and Donna here! Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Community United! Our goal has always been to meet the community's needs. In that spirit, we met with the city staff running the Starbird Youth center and the local elementary school and found out their current needs. The center needs help with basics like getting water for the youth to drink and fixing the wifi so they can access their homework. In addition, they would like a literacy program done for the youth not up to grade-level reading. While our partnership with Family Giving Tree has always been amazing for serving the community, they have also been impacted by funding loss, and due to this, we are receiving fewer gifts. We are doing this fundraiser to bridge the gap and meet the needs of our local centers and elementary schools. We have also received positive feedback on the groceries we delivered through the pandemic and would like to provide each family that is receiving gifts this year with a holiday meal in a bag.
