This season , the Western Springs Historical Society is sponsoring a fundraising campaign to support the restoration of three of our most beloved oil paintings.
For generations, visitors to the Tower Museum have learned the story of Frederick Crumbaugh’s portrait—the little boy whose image has become a rite of passage for Western Springs guests. This painting, along with the companion portraits of Frederick’s parents, is more than just artwork; it is a priceless piece of our town’s story, painted by an important nineteenth-century American artist.
These mid-nineteenth-century paintings have stood the test of time, but their age now shows. Help us ensure that future generations can experience and learn from these Western Springs treasures with a donation to help us get the artwork professionally restored.
