Kathi Meenan has been a light in our community. As a vet, mom, educator, child advocate, mentor, benefactor, and friend, she has done so much for so many of us.

As the founder of the non-profit Wishes for Horses Kathi gave children the chance to experience the joy of horses regardless of their financial means. At Getner Barn, Kathi created a place where young people could find confidence, learn responsibility, experience kindness, and bask in the love of a horse.

Against the odds, Kathi became a veterinarian, dedicating her life to healing animals—ours and countless others. She has taught hundreds of young riders, mentored many young adults wanting to become veterinarians, and created a safe haven in her barn for anyone who needed it. She’s been a devoted wife, mother to three boys, and cared for her elderly father through his last years.

Kathi passed away August 12th after bravely battling cancer for the past three years. Healthcare costs and ongoing expenses placed an overwhelming financial burden on her family.

Kathi Meenan has spent her life lifting others. She has dedicated her life to helping animals and the children who love them. Now it’s our turn to lift her and her family.

Together, we can show the same support, kindness, and love she has shown all of us.
