I just wanted to share a little about what’s going on with our family and why I’m starting this fundraiser. Earlier this week, Morgan was admitted to the hospital at just 30 weeks pregnant and transferred to San Antonio for more advanced care. She’s showing signs of preterm labor, and while the doctors are doing everything they can to stop it, we’re still in a really uncertain place. We’re taking it one day at a time and hoping baby stays put a little longer. Right now, Morgan and I are both away from home while she’s being monitored. She doesn’t have paid maternity leave or short-term disability, and with her needing care in San Antonio, we’re unsure how long she’ll be out of work. We were told one week but if they can’t keep labor stopped she could be here longer. We weren’t really anticipating her to be out of work for a couple more months so now we’re in panic mode. I’m planning to work when I can, but with her in San Antonio and us living in Fredericksburg, I’m doing my best to balance being there for her and the baby while still trying to support our family. On top of everything, my MRI from July showed signs that my tumor might be growing again. I had to reschedule my follow-up appointment due to Morgan’s preterm labor, so that’s now something we’ll be navigating later on too. Our three boys are at home being cared for by family. They’re still going to daycare and preschool, and school starts next week. There’s a lot to juggle, and we’re just trying to stay steady through it all.
