Help Support Mrs. Lynn Hudgins — A Lifelong Teacher in Need

We’re coming together to support someone who gave so much of her life to others — Mrs. Lynn Hudgins, a beloved 5th grade teacher who taught at Mount Olive Elementary for over 40 years.

Mrs. Hudgins dedicated her heart and soul to teaching, influencing more than 2,600 students over the course of her career. Teaching wasn’t just her profession — it was her calling. Even after retiring from public school, she continued to teach Sunday School with the same passion, believing every day was an opportunity to make a difference.

Now, after a life of service, she needs a little help from the very community she helped shape.

Why We're Raising Funds

Mrs. Hudgins had to retire early due to disability, and now lives on a reduced fixed income that barely covers her needs. Since February, she’s been battling financial hardship, falling into overdraft month after month. A recent ambulance ride and hospital stay only made things worse.

She’s currently facing:

Overdraft and overdue bills

Medical expenses and prescriptions she can’t afford

A broken computer and television, cutting off communication and comfort

A sick pet in need of veterinary care

Home repair needs, including a broken wall that lets in bugs and animals

Possible displacement, as her landlord may be asking her to leave soon

Through all this, Mrs. Hudgins remains humble and grateful. She didn’t ask for money — only that we share her story and invite her former students and friends to help, if they feel led.
