WE DID IT!
OUR THREE FLAT ROOFS HAVE BEEN REPLACED!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local community groups, charities, members of the public, parents and friends of Girlguiding Alsager, we’re delighted to share some fantastic news…
THE THREE FLAT ROOFS ON OUR GUIDE HALL HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED!
The work was successfully completed at the end of June.
This is a huge milestone for Girlguiding Alsager and a wonderful achievement for our whole community.
We simply couldn’t have done it without you!
Thank you to everyone who has supported us with donations, fundraising and encouragement. Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference.
ONE FINAL PUSH!
WE’RE NOT QUITE THERE YET…
We still need to raise the remaining funds to replace the pitched roof and complete this vital project.
OUR FINAL GOAL:
SECURE THE FUTURE OF OUR GUIDE HALL
FOR GENERATIONS OF GIRLS TO COME
Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to reaching our final target.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US GET THIS FAR!
PLEASE HELP US COMPLETE THE PROJECT
This hall has served Alsager for 50 years. It is now at the stage where we need to act to keep it serving Alsager for the years to come.
We are part of Girlguiding, supporting girls and young women to grow in confidence and find their voice. Locally, more than 200 members aged 4 to adulthood use this hall every week during term time. Everything we do is led by volunteers.
The hall is not only used by Girlguiding.
It is a shared community space, used week in, week out by:
- U3A
- Fitness and wellbeing classes
- Art and creative groups
- Local organisations needing an accessible meeting space
It is also a well used venue for overnight residential stays, welcoming Girlguiding units from the local area and from across the UK.
This building supports the whole community.
The problem we face today
- The roof is actively leaking
- There is little or no insulation beneath it
- The heating system is inefficient and costly
- Continued leaks risk damage to the building and its use
If we do not act now, the hall may become unusable.
What your donation will do
Your support will fund urgent work to:
- Repair and secure the leaking roof
- Improve insulation to protect the building
- Upgrade heating so the hall can be used year round
Any funds raised beyond our target will go directly into further improvement projects, helping future proof the hall for everyone who relies on it.
A moment for the community to give back
Many people in Alsager and beyond have a guiding origin story:
- You may have been a Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Ranger, or volunteer.
- You may have a daughter, sister, or friend who was.
- Your connection may be local or from further afield.
This hall represents decades of shared memories, skills learned, friendships formed, and confidence built.
Now it needs the community that shaped it to step forward.
Your donation helps keep this space open, safe, and available for the next generation.
