URGENT: Help Secure a Permanent Home for Abu Bakr Masjid & Quran School

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, seeking the Pleasure of Allah, Allah will build for him a similar house in Paradise."

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

For over 16 years, Abu Bakr Masjid has been a cornerstone of the Muslim community in Calgary. Formerly known as the Abu Bakr Dawah Centre, it was among the first masajid in the city dedicated to supporting and sponsoring dawah initiatives.

To this day, it continues to provide accommodation, resources, and support for those engaged in spreading Islamic knowledge and serving the community.

Abu Bakr Masjid has always been more than a place of prayer—it is a home. Its doors remain open for worshippers seeking a place to pray, rest, find food, receive guidance, or seek support during difficult times.

The masjid serves the community through:

-Jumu'ah prayers

-Five daily prayers

-Ramadan Taraweeh prayers

-Community Iftars and Suhoors

-Educational programs and dawah activities

-Support services for families and individuals in need

-Home to One of Calgary's Largest Quran Schools

For years, the school has taught children as young as four years old Quran Sciences, Arabic, and Islamic Studies.

By the grace of Allah, the school has produced at least 19 Huffadh (memorizers of the Quran) and continues to support both youth and adult students pursuing advanced Islamic studies.

Our Urgent Challenge

Over the past two years, we have already been forced to relocate once due to circumstances beyond our control.

Today, we face another major challenge.

Our current landlord requires the property back, and we must vacate the premises. Without a permanent home, the future of the masjid, the Quran school, and the services relied upon by hundreds of community members remains uncertain. Rather than continue moving from location to location, we have been given a rare opportunity to purchase a permanent property that will secure the future of Abu Bakr Masjid and the school for generations to come.

The Opportunity

We have identified a suitable property in our community (approximately 12,000 Sq Ft), with a purchase price of $2.2 million.

To secure this property, we must raise a $500,000 deposit by the end of June 2026.

Reaching this goal will allow us to move forward with the purchase process and significantly reduce our dependence on costly financing arrangements.

على مدى اكثر من ١٦ عاما، كان مسجد أبو بكر ركيزة أساسية للمجتمع المسلم في كالغاري. وكان يعرف سابقا باسم مركز أبو بكر للدعوة، وكان من اوائل المسجد في المدينة التي خصصت لدعم ورعاية مبادرات الدعوة.

ولا يزال حتى اليوم يوفّر السكن والموارد والدعم للمنخرطين في نشر العلم الاسلامي وخدمة المجتمع.

لقد كان مسجد أبو بكر دائما اكثر من مجرد مكان للصلاة؛ انه بيت. وتبقى أبو بكر مفتوحة للمصلين الباحثين عن مكان للصلاة او الراحة او الحصول على الطعام او تلقّي الإرشاد او طلب المساعدة في الأوقات الصعبة.

يخدم المسجد المجتمع من خلال:

ولسنوات عديدة، قامت المدرسة بتعليم الأطفال إبتداءاً من سن الرابعة علوم القرآن واللغة العربية والدراسات الإسلامية.

و بفضل الله، خرّجت المدرسة ما لا يقل عن ١٩ حافظا للقرآن الكريم، ولا تزال تواصل دعم الطلاب من الشباب و البالغين الساعين إلى متابعة الدراسات السلامية المتقدمة.

تحدّينا العاجل

على مدار العامين الماضيين، اضطررنا بالفعل إلى الانتقال مرة واحدة بسبب ظروف خارجة عن ارادتنا.

واليوم نواجه تحديا كبيرا آخر.

فقد طلب مالك العقار الحالي استعادة العقار، وعلينا إخلاء المواقع. ومن دون مقر دائم، يبقى مستقبل المسجد ومدرسة القرآن والخدمات التي يعتمد عليها ميءات من أفراد المجتمع غير موكد. وبدلاً من الاستمرار في الانتقال من موقع إلى آخر، أتيحت لنا فرصة نادرة لشراء عقّار دائم يضمن مستقبل مسجد أبو بكر والمدرسة للأجيال القادمة.

الفرصة

لقد حددنا عقارا مناسبا في مجتمعنا (بمساحة تقارب ١٢٠٠٠ قدم مربع( بسعر شراء يبلغ ٢،٢ مليون دولار.

ولتامين هذا العقار، يجب علينا جمع مبلغ ٥٠٠٠٠٠ دولار كدفعة مقدمة بحلول نهاية يونيو ٢.٢٦.

وسيتيح لنا تحقيق هذا الهدف المضي قدماً في عملية الشراء وتقليل اعتمادنا بشكل كبير على ترتيبات التمويل المكلفة.
