Stand with Sanaz; A Mother trying her best to stay positive!

My name is Sahar, and I am Sanaz’s oldest sister. Our family is incredibly close—we’ve stood by each other through every season of life. Seeing my sister suddenly left alone to work full-time, care for their two young children, and carry the weight of this separation has been heartbreaking beyond words.

My brother-in-law, Shahryar Talebi Nejad, has been the love of my sister Sanaz’s life since 2005 when they first met at Quince Orchard High School. From young love to proud parents, their relationship has grown into a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to their family. Together, they are raising two beautiful children—a sweet, bright 4-year-old daughter and an adorable, handsome 2-year-old son who lights up every room.

Now, that life is being torn apart.

Shahryar was picked up by ICE at 5 a.m. on the very day he was to receive his long-awaited promotion to Manager at Darcars! He has been in the United States since he was 8 years old and has fully complied with immigration requirements throughout his life here. Yet, he now faces the devastating possibility of being sent to countries he has no ties to—or even places currently torn apart by civil war.

He is now being held in an inhumane ICE facility in Pennsylvania with thousands of others, where suicides and attempted suicides occur daily. Conditions are unbearable, and detainees are given no answers or guidance to the appropriate resources they desperately need.

Sanaz has suddenly been left to work, manage the household, and care for both children entirely on her own. She is doing everything she can, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Our entire family is heartbroken watching her shoulder this unimaginable burden. If you know us, you know how close we are, and the thought of losing them from our lives is unbearable.
