Help Rural Saint Catherine, Jamaica Recover After Hurricane

Donation protected
Hello everyone

My name is Dalton Ferron, also known as Brammy, and together with my wife Sylvia Ferron, we have proudly run Brammies Caribbean Takeaway in Nechells, Birmingham for over ten years. We have served our local community delicious Jamaican food, sharing warmth, love, and a taste of home without ever asking for anything in return.

Today, however, we’re asking for your help.

Our beloved country, Jamaica, has been devastated by Category 5 Hurricane Melissa, leaving many parts of the island, especially in western Jamaica, severely damaged. While most relief efforts are rightly being directed to those areas, our home parishes of St. Catherine, particularly rural St. Catherine, have also been badly affected and are still waiting for help to reach them.

In these rural areas, families have lost homes, roofs, crops, clothing, and access to clean water. Many are without electricity and phone service. Landslides, flooding, and road blockages have left people isolated and in urgent need of support.

That is why we have decided to act.

Together with our relatives, the Edwards family, and the whole Brammies staff team, we are raising funds and collecting supplies for the following affected communities: Seafield, Top Mountain, John Crow Spring, Pear Tree Grove, Dunkell, Montgrave, Rose Hill, Lodge, Buck Up, Burton, New Mountain, and Dry River, all located in rural St. Catherine and St. Mary.

All funds raised will go directly to the people in these communities to help with replacing and repairing roofs, providing clothing, food, and clean water, and supplying bedding, household goods, and school materials for children.

We will be travelling to Jamaica personally to clear these donations from customs and hand-deliver them to families in need. Every donation will go directly to the affected people to ensure it reaches those who need it most.

If you would prefer to donate items instead of money, we are also collecting the following:
Clothing and shoes for children and adults
Non-perishable food items such as tinned food, rice, and pasta
Baby food
Toiletries and hygiene products
Bedding, blankets, and towels
School supplies including notebooks, pencils, and crayons

All item donations can be dropped off at:
52 Revesby Walk, Birmingham, B7 4LG

If you are not comfortable donating to our cause, we completely understand. You can also support through the official Jamaican relief channel at https://supportjamaica.gov.jm/.

We promise complete transparency. Every contribution and delivery will be documented and shared on our Brammies social media pages, so you can see exactly how your generosity is helping. You can follow updates on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/brammies_

From our hearts to yours, please help us help them. Together we can rebuild lives, restore hope, and remind our people that they are not forgotten.

One Love
The Brammies Family & The Edwards Clan ❤️
