Hello,
On August 21st, 2025, at around 11:50am, 7-8 unmarked cars pulled up to the La Cienega Carwash. In an instant, 8 ICE agents got out of the vehicles and forcibly detained 8 car wash workers, including my uncle, Orlando Segura Erazo.
Due to his age, Orlando didn't run or aggrevate anyone, he was simply standing there in shock and unable to move. That's when my uncle was forcibly grabbed and thrown to the ground by an ICE agent, fracturing his leg from the impact, before being picked up and placed into one of the unmarked cars. He is currently being held in the Otay Mesa Detention Center.
My uncle and I have lived in the Mid City area for years. He's a respected and cared for community member as well as a longtime employee of the now closed La Cienega Car Wash. My uncle is a dedicated, hard-working, responsible, kind-hearted man. When he wasn't working, my uncle tirelessly took care of me as one of my primary caretakers, a role he assumed after my accident 3 years ago. He was an integral part of my life and my family's lives. And now without him, I am trying to pick up the pieces and find a way to bring him back home.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will be used to cover our living expenses while he's being detained and after as he recovers from his injury. I'm hoping that he comes back soon and when he does, I want him to know that I did everything I could to stay afloat and keep our home.
Thank you so much for your time. Please consider sharing our story, donating if you can, and continue support families being impacted by the ICE raid. Any action will be a HUGE help. Thank you all.
