My daughter, her husband, and their three beautiful children are facing a heartbreaking financial setback after my oldest grandson, age 7, became seriously ill and needed extensive after care.

They are loving, devoted parents who give so much to others — but right now, they need help to get back on their feet.

A couple of months ago, my oldest grandson was suddenly hospitalized and required extra care.

With two younger children at home — ages 3½ and 1½, one of them with special needs — my son-in-law had no choice but to take time off work to be there for his family.

He took FMLA, but the reduced income barely covered their most basic costs. I flew in to help for a month, doing everything I could to support them. But like many families living paycheck to paycheck, losing nearly two months of income caused a huge financial setback.

My daughter is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools her children, pouring her whole heart into raising them. Her husband works tirelessly to provide for them.

They are active in church, always serving others, and give their children an abundance of love, attention, and faith.

Now, they’ve fallen behind on bills and are struggling to cover rent, utilities, and the children’s needs.

As a mom, it breaks my heart to see them in this position. I am no longer in a place where I can give them everything they need, and my mother and I have helped as much as we possibly can. But it’s not enough to get them caught up.

This fundraiser is a surprise for them — they don’t know I’m doing it.

My goal is to raise enough to cover three months of living expenses so they can catch up and finally breathe again.

Every dollar will go toward:

• Rent & utilities

• Groceries & household needs

• Essentials for the kids, including medical and special needs care
