Hi, my name is Alicia and I am raising funds to help my Dad and his family in the UK rebuild after losing everything in a fire.

After working his whole life for other people as a mechanic, my Dad finally took the leap to start his own business just a few months ago to create a better life for his family. One morning in July, he woke up to the shocking news that there had been a fire at the garage unit he was renting. The fire destroyed everything: all of his tools he had spent decades collecting, specialist equipment, and even a customer's car which was parked outside the unit was damaged from the heat. The worst part — the insurance wasn't yet in place. This means nothing will be reimbursed, he has lost everything.

My Dad has worked tirelessly, building up his own business, gaining a customer base and had a really good thing going. Now he's left without tools and a space to do his job and still has to support his family, including three children, the youngest just 2 years old.

My Dad never asks for anything and finds a way to carry on no matter what life throws at him. Even after this, he has a positive attitude and said "Things will have a way of working out". That strength is one of the many reasons he's my biggest inspiration, and why I want to try raise some funds to get him back on his feet.

This fundraiser is to help him:

Replace some of the essential tools and specialist equipment he needs to work

Get set up with a new workspace

Support his family while he rebuilds

He’s lost several thousand pounds worth of equipment, but truly, any amount you can give would be a huge help, whether that’s a donation or simply sharing this page with others.
