My name is Jona. I am creating this Gofundme regarding my brother Glenn Leonard-some may know him as Belton Leonard. If you knew him you knew someone selfless, giving, but most of all goofy. Glenn was well known in the community for freely giving his time plus resources building houses and ramps for others in need and working in construction all together. He would always give the shirt off his back for others regardless of his own situation. Several years ago Glenn was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and unfortunately has progressed to End Stage Renal Disease resulting in Dialysis 3 days a week. His overall health has declined significantly. If you don’t know much about Dialysis it can be extremely taxing on the body-physically, mentally, and emotionally. Glenn has suffered from extreme weakness, required several medical procedures, decline in his mobility resulting in multiple falls, vision issues, etc. With that being said many things including simply home repairs he would do himself have been unable to be completed/fixed. His wife is currently unemployed due to Glenn requiring 24/7 assistance-not to mention they are assisting in raising their grandson at this time. Not only does he carry the burden of his own health, but the financial burden as well. As a Leonard- sometimes our pride gets in the way and asking for help is the last thing on our mind. I have watched my Brother give and give and now it’s time he receives. I am asking for any and all donations to go towards medical necessities such as hand rails, shower chair, etc. Donations to go towards basic necessities such as food, power, gas to get to and from Dialysis, etc. Donations for home repairs and revamps such as electrical concerns, plumbing issues, building of a ramp, etc. On top of all that Glenn recently was hospitalized due to fluid build up in his lungs and has been moved to a rehab facility in hopes to obtain physical therapy for a few weeks. My goal is to get as much done to his home prior to his return. As much as I know everyone loves him, sometimes he needs to be reminded. Although he might smack me for doing this, I’d do it again in a heart beat.
