Meet the Taylor family, Whitfield, Bebe (9) and Apryl (7). Whitfield is an incredibly dedicated single dad who has embarked on a journey to give his family a better future by going to Portland Community College Rock Creek to get a degree in Marine Welding. The girls are thrilled to support their dad as he becomes a student just like them! In order for him to succeed, they need a car. Currently the family relies on public transportation. Whitfield takes the girls to school via MAX and the bus, then heads to his school which takes approx 2 hours. He's completely willing to do the riding, transferring and walking rain, sun or shine. The main issue is getting home in time to pick the girls up from afterschool care. If he has a car, he can make it on time. If he has to use public transportation, he can't, so the whole dream of going back to school won't work.
