Help Equip Twin Cities Legal Observers with PPE

Donation protected
I have been involved in rapid response in the Twin Cities area since the beginning of this occupation, starting the morning of Dec 2. Many of us on the frontlines have invested personal funds into PPE for our work but the need for more protective equipment for as many legal observers as possible is upon us and we need financial support from the national and international community now. Please support if you can. Funds will only be used for PPE like goggles, gas masks, and bulletproof vests.

****Also please note: Per online search, "Wearing protective gear while committing a crime carries enhanced penalties in the United States. You can generally buy, own, and wear body armor for protection, but it's illegal to use it in the commission of a felony." This means that PPE while operating as a legal observer is an individual risk choice that may lead to higher charges if the government does try to charge you with committing a crime. Observation is legal, but the government is also trying to argue otherwise. That risk to wear protective equipment must be weighed with the risks of not wearing it, and the choice is personal and should be a well-informed one. If you already have an ongoing case related to this occupation, it would be wise to check in with your lawyer.***

Thank you for supporting the Twin Cities. We love you. Beautiful screenprint image by Nicolas Lampert, movement artist based in Milwaukee, WI.
