Help a Disabled Mother & Daughter Find Safety, Stability, and Hope
By August 31st, my daughter and I will lose our home.
If we don’t act now, we’ll be homeless — and my daughter will lose her chance to go to college.
I’ve never been comfortable asking for help, but today I have no choice.
Our Story
I’m 46 years old, from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. I was born with cerebral palsy, and in 2020, I lost my leg after an injury that couldn’t be repaired. I live every day with advanced osteoarthritis, chronic pain, and limited mobility in my shoulders from constant overuse of my wheelchair.
Despite it all, I’ve always been proud of three things:
My independence
Being a mother
Always putting others before myself
In 2019, my husband passed away. We lost half our income overnight. Since then, I’ve survived on $1,091 a month from SSI, with no reliable transportation and no accessible housing options nearby.
Now, after years of doing everything I could to hold us together, we’ve been told to leave our apartment by August 31st. And to make things worse, my daughter owes $5,000 in tuition by August 11th or she’ll lose her spot at Kutztown University.
Why $250,000? (Two-Phase Goal)
We’ve set a big goal because this isn’t just about surviving eviction — it’s about building a future where my daughter and I never face homelessness again.
Phase 1 – Urgent Needs ($45,000)
$5,000 — Daughter’s immediate tuition balance (due August 11th)
$15,000 — Accessible housing deposit + first year’s rent (or start of a down payment fund)
$10,000 — Reliable wheelchair-accessible van (for appointments, work, errands, and independence)
$5,000 — Moving expenses, deposits, accessibility modifications
$10,000 — Emergency buffer for food, medical costs, and utilities during transition
This phase keeps us safe right now.
Phase 2 – Stability & Future Security ($205,000)
Pay off $15,000+ in debt that’s destroying my credit
Purchase a permanent, wheelchair-accessible home
Secure a full college fund so my daughter can complete her degree without interruption
Ensure reliable transportation long-term (van upgrades & maintenance)
Build a $20,000 emergency/medical savings fund so we never face this again
This phase makes sure we’re not just surviving — but truly stable, independent, and thriving.

From My Heart to Yours
I’ve always fought to keep going, even when I wanted to give up. My daughter is my reason for not quitting.
This campaign isn’t just about us keeping a roof over our heads. It’s about giving my daughter the chance to get an education, and giving me the chance to stop living in fear of the next crisis.
Thank you America for reading, sharing, and supporting. Your kindness can truly change our lives.
