Help Bring the Souper Lounge to Black Rock City

The Souper Lounge is more than just an art car—it's a roaming oasis of warmth, comfort, music, food, and connection.

Imagine stumbling across a giant glowing bowl of soup deep in the playa after a long night of adventure. You climb aboard, sink into a cozy lounge bed, grab a warm bowl of ramen, or cool off with soft-serve ice cream, while music drifts through the desert and new experiences are made.

That's the experience we're creating.

After investing nearly $47,000 of our own money and spending the last year and a half building the Souper Lounge from the ground up, we're entering the final stretch.

With just a few weeks before we head to Black Rock City, we're hoping to raise $15,000–$20,000 to help us finish the project and bring this gift to the playa.

What is the Souper Lounge?

The Souper Lounge is an extra-large mutant soup bowl roaming Black Rock City, serving up hot soup, ramen, and soft-serve ice cream to dusty, hungry Burners wherever we find them.

Bringing warm soup to the Trash Fence

Co-creating events with theme camps

Hosting DJ sets, sound healings, and sunrise spa sessions

We want the Souper Lounge to become a place where strangers become friends, conversations happen naturally, and people leave feeling just a little more cared for than when they arrived.

Why Soup?

People ask us all the time...

"Why a giant bowl of soup?"

The answer is simple.

I'm a chef, and feeding people has always been one of my favorite ways to show love.

Food brings people together.

It slows us down.

It creates conversation.

It nourishes not only our bodies but our souls.

What's better than a warm bowl of ramen on a chilly sunrise while your friends dance nearby and you're wrapped in blankets inside a giant glowing soup bowl?

Or a soft-serve ice cream on a hot afternoon after hours of exploring the playa?

The Souper Lounge isn't just about serving food.

It's about creating those unforgettable Burning Man moments where complete strangers become family.

Sometimes nourishment comes in the form of soup.

Sometimes it's music.

Sometimes it's laughter.

Sometimes it's simply having a place where you feel welcome.

❤️ Our Story

A few years ago, my dad became very sick.

During that time, he made himself a promise:

If I get better, I'm finally going to Burning Man.

It had always been on his bucket list.

Thankfully, life had other plans.

He healed.

He grew stronger.

And eventually, I was able to bring him to the playa for his very first Burn.

I honestly thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Instead...

He completely fell in love.

He fell in love with the creativity.

The generosity.

The community.

The magic that only exists in Black Rock City.

When we came home, he looked at me and said,

"I want to build something. An ART piece!"

That simple sentence changed everything.

For the last year and a half, this project has been built almost entirely by just the two of us—a father and daughter spending evenings, weekends, and countless late nights welding, designing, fabricating, problem-solving, laughing, and occasionally wondering what we'd gotten ourselves into.

A few incredible friends have joined us along the way, and these past few weeks we've been hosting community build days at the farm to help bring her across the finish line.

Looking back, I realize this project was never just about building a mutant vehicle.

It became an excuse to spend time together, create something bigger than ourselves, and make memories we'll carry forever.

My dad is my best friend.

Watching Burning Man inspire him to dream again—and then getting to build that dream together—has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

The Souper Lounge is our way of giving a little of that gift back to all of you.

Where Your Donation Goes

We've personally invested nearly $47,000 into bringing the Souper Lounge to life.

Those funds have gone toward purchasing the truck, steel, fabrication, custom lighting, electrical systems, engineering, signage, tools, and the hundreds of little things that quickly become thousands when building a mutant vehicle from scratch.

Our immediate goal is to raise $15,000–$20,000 to help us finish construction and get the Souper Lounge safely to Black Rock City.

Trailer transportation to and from the playa

A heavy-duty rear axle upgrade

Thousands of servings of soup, ramen, soft serve, and all the supplies needed to gift them throughout the week

Fuel, maintenance, and those inevitable last-minute repairs that every mutant vehicle encounters in one of the harshest environments on Earth

Anything beyond our immediate needs will help offset the significant costs we've already absorbed and ensure the Souper Lounge can continue returning to the playa for many years to come.
