In Memory of André Baraka

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of André Baraka, a young, Congolese athlete and an exceptional human being with a special soul, the kindest heart, humble, grateful, and incredibly dedicated to his sport and training, who left us on August 7th in Kenya.

André was more than a champion — he was part of our Congo River Marathon family. Winner of the XXL Energy Congo River Marathon (2022) and a top-3 finisher in three other editions (2023, 2024). A fierce competitor, a friend, and an inspiration to many.

He leaves behind a wife and young child. Our hearts go out to them in this difficult time.

We are launching this fundraising campaign to support Andrew's family and honor his legacy. Every contribution will go directly to his wife and child. Let's come together as a community, just as André always brought people together through sport. Your support means everything.
