Help Ahmad and Salam Rebuild After Loss

My name is Miya K, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia.

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my dear friend Ahmad in Gaza, who is facing unimaginable hardship due to the ongoing crisis. Every day, they are surrounded by destruction, shortages of food and clean water, and the constant threat to their safety. Despite their resilience, the situation has become unbearable, and urgent support is needed to provide them with the essentials to survive and, if possible, a way to find safety. Your donations serve as LIFELINES to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Ahmad and Salam are a young couple yearning for a just future. We are family friends. Through your generosity, they may afford flour, cooking oil, medicine, fruits and vegetables (if they are available), and hopefully even help provide shelter, InshAllah. Their family is currently displaced and there are more than ten adults and many kids in one small space in the west of Gaza Strip. The prices for all the necessary food, water, and rent rise very quickly. Our consistent help, with donations small or large, makes survival more possible in Gaza. The money raised in this campaign for Ahmad and Salam's support will be sent directly to them via PayPal. Thank you. Here we bring to you the words of Ahmad and Salam directly:

Ahmad & Salam: Searching for Life Amid the Rubble

Hello, my name is Ahmad Habboush, I’m 26 years old, and my wife Salam is 20. We are a young couple from Gaza. We recently got married and were living our small dreams with simplicity and hope—until the day everything was turned upside down.

We lived with my extended family of 19 people in a modest home in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. It wasn’t a luxurious house, but it was our safe haven, full of memories and laughter. Our only dream was to live in peace.

I work as a freelance 3D designer. We didn’t have much, but we had enough to smile, dream, and plan for a better tomorrow.

Then the war began…

In a moment, our dreams turned to ashes. Our home was completely destroyed. We lost our sense of safety and were forcibly displaced more than 10 times over the past two years. Today, we are enduring one of the most severe humanitarian disasters: a brutal war, genocide, and a suffocating famine.

The explosions never stopped. The sky never quieted. Smoke, sirens, screams, and fear fill every moment. We ran, we fled, we tried to survive. And with each displacement, a part of us was lost.

The first time we were displaced, we carried a small bag and some hope. With each new displacement, we carried less and less… Today, almost nothing is left.

Then came the news that our home had been completely destroyed. There is no house anymore. Everything vanished in an instant, and it felt like our entire life had collapsed.

We didn’t just lose our home—we lost our lives, our safety, our daily routine, and our dreams. Even our names now feel like mere numbers among the thousands sleeping on the ground, just trying to survive.

Due to the closure of the crossings and the resumption of war after the ceasefire, Israel has blocked the entry of food and aid into Gaza for more than 70 days, since March 2, 2025.

The food shortage has led to a massive rise in prices, making daily survival increasingly difficult. It has become nearly impossible to save money for future evacuation or to meet even the most basic needs like food, water, and simple shelter.

This campaign aims to:

Raise funds to provide basic needs such as food, medicine, and clothing.

Save an additional amount to cover travel costs when the Rafah border crossing reopens.

Help Ahmad and his family endure.

Your donation—no matter how small—could mean the difference between hunger and survival, between fear and safety.
