However, due to the sensitive and tragic circumstances surrounding this situation, that campaign has been shut down and all contributions have been fully refunded. This new fundraiser is the only official and active campaign directly supporting the care and well-being of our five grandchildren now in our custody as well as payment for the burial of our dearly departed grandson- Legend Jenkins!

Hello, our names are William and Renea Jenkins, and we’re reaching out with heavy hearts and a humble request.

On May 27th, 2025, we experienced an unimaginable tragedy—our 7-year-old grandson, Legend Jenkins- passed away under heartbreaking circumstances. His life was tragically cut short in pedestrian-car accident in Gastonia, NC. In the wake of this loss, we have taken in his five siblings, our beloved grandchildren, to raise and care for full-time.

These children have endured more than any child should. They are grieving the loss of their brother and adjusting to a completely new life.

We’ve opened our home and our hearts to them, and while we are committed to giving them the love, safety, and stability they need, the emotional and financial weight of this responsibility is immense.

We are navigating therapy appointments, school transitions, legal processes, and the daily needs of five children—all while managing our own grief. It is a journey filled with love, but also with challenges we never expected to face at this stage in our lives.

We are asking for your support to help us continue caring for our grandchildren and give them the healing and hope they deserve. Your donations will help with:

- Basic living expenses (food, clothing, utilities)

- Grief counseling and therapy for the children

- Legal fees related to guardianship

- School supplies, clothing, and extracurricular activities
