<div>On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Eau Claire Police Officer Skyler Klevgard sustained multiple fractures to his femur in the line of duty. A suspect ran from officers and while pursuing him Officer Klevgard sustained the fractures to his right femur. Officer Klevgard had surgery on his fractured femur and was released from the hospital on September 8, 2026.

<div>Officer Klevgard and his family have a long road to recovery in front of them. Skyler and his wife Sarah have three young children. Sarah is employed and is also pursuing a degree in Nursing. The Klevgard family will be experiencing increased childcare costs as a result of this work-related injury. With their families living outside the area, Skyler and Sarah do not have family nearby to help with the additional demands they will face during his recovery. Basic family responsibilities such as picking up groceries, house cleaning, lawn mowing and snow removal will be very difficult.

<div>My wife, Britagne, is the strongest person I have ever known. She is an incredible woman, an amazing mother to our four beautiful children, and the person who held our family together. If you've ever met Britagne, you know she always puts others before herself. She loves being outdoors, staying active, working out, and helping anyone who needs it. She has a servant's heart and has spent her life caring for the people she loves.

<div>We have four amazing children together: Kysen (15), Rhyden (14), Brinley (12), and Greyson (9). They are her entire world, and right now they need their mom more than ever. She deserves to watch them graduate, celebrate every milestone, and one day meet the grandbabies we've always dreamed about.

<div>On May 28th, what looked like a simple spider bite turned into something none of us could have imagined. Britagne was admitted to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on June 4th and has been there since. A giant hematoma formed on her right calf from the bite. The pain was excruciating, and she required surgery to remove large blood clots and drain the area. Over the following weeks she was often incoherent as her condition worsened.

<div>Complicating everything, Britagne is also battling end-stage liver failure. This made surgery and routine care far more dangerous — doctors warned she could bleed out. Multiple doctors told us she might have only days to a month to live and recommended hospice after just two weeks in the hospital. Britagne spent 10 days in the MICU, then time in the cardio ICU before being moved to a regular floor. But she refused to give up. She told the doctors she would fight to live as long as she could for her family, and she insisted they do everything possible to save her.

<div>The medical team has provided everything they can: blood transfusions, plasma, platelets, cryoprecipitate, antibiotics, potassium, and other life-saving treatments to try to stabilize her dangerously low lab values. Just as she seemed to be improving, she developed a gram-negative blood infection along with staph infection. The infection caused tissue necrosis around her stitches, and doctors had to perform two bedside procedures to remove dead skin and place her on additional antibiotics.

<div>Right now, Britagne is not yet eligible for the liver transplant list. Before she can be considered for transplant surgery, doctors must get her blood clotting and labs stable enough to tolerate the operation. That stabilization process could take several months, and until then every day is focused on helping her body heal and become strong enough for the next step. Our goal is to beat the odds and get her back to good health.

<div>I have watched her endure more pain than I ever thought a person could survive, and somehow, she still finds the strength to fight. If there’s anyone who can make it through this, it’s Britagne. I have seen her face every challenge with determination and courage — even the births of our children amazed me with her strength. I remember her chasing down hospital staff after delivery because they had taken our newborn to the nursery — she wasn’t about to let her baby out of her sight. That’s who she is.

<div>Thankfully, Britagne will soon be able to come home from the hospital, which is a huge answer to our prayers. But coming home is only the next step. She'll need a lot of home health care and weekly visits to specialists as the doctors keep an eye on her liver and blood clotting. She’ll also have physical therapy to help her learn to walk again on her right leg and get movement and feeling back in her right hand, plus work on her overall recovery.

<div>Throughout this ordeal, I have stayed by Britagne’s side while trying to care for our children. Because I couldn’t maintain the work schedule my employer required during this medical emergency, I lost my job. There was never a question about where I needed to be, but losing my income and insurance has put us in a tough spot financially.

<div>We could not have made it this far without Britagne’s mom, Sheila. She flew from Utah to Kansas to care for Britagne, watch our kids, and support our family through this unimaginably difficult time. Her love and sacrifice have carried us through some of our darkest days, and we are forever grateful.

Support for the Loss of Juan Mejia

<div>My name is Angela Lipps. I'm a 50 year old grandmother from Elizabethton, Tennessee. I have three grown children and five grandchildren. I have never been to North Dakota or even any of the surrounding states. I've never visited Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, or anywhere else near North Dakota.

<div>On July 14th, 2025 a team of U.S. Marshals showed up at my home while I was babysitting four young children. They arrested me at gunpoint and took me away. Until then I had never had a gun pointed at me. These poor children saw everything happen. It breaks my heart. They were so scared.
</div>

</div>
<div>What I later learned, after many days in jail is that police in Fargo, North Dakota had been investigating a bank fraud case. A woman used a fake military ID to steal tens of thousands of dollars from banks in Fargo. The cops ran surveillance footage through facial recognition software. That AI software said it was me. A detective looked at my Tennessee driver's license and my social media and agreed. Nobody called me. Nobody asked me a single question. They just got a warrant.

<div>I sat in a county jail in Tennessee for 108 days. They said I was fugitive from justice. I had no bail. No one interviewed me. I just sat and waited.
</div>

<div>On October 30th I was taken from the jail and flown to North Dakota. It was the first time I had ever been on an airplane. I was terrified. They put a restraint device around my waist and handcuffed me and walked me through the airport in front of everyone. Everyone was staring. I was terrified and exhausted and humiliated.

<div>I was given a lawyer in Fargo. The lawyer pulled my bank records and showed that I was in Tennessee the entire time. My bank records prove that I was at a gas station, ordering a pizza, and using Cash App at the very times they said I was 1,200 miles north in Fargo. I was taken by the U.S. Marshals on July 14th. It wasn't until December 19th that my lawyer and I finally sat down with a detective. It took five minutes for the whole thing to fall apart. Five minutes.

<div>On Christmas Eve, after more than five months in jail, the charges were dismissed.

<div>I was released into a North Dakota winter wearing summer clothes. I had no coat, no ride, no way home. Fargo police did nothing to help me. Local defense attorneys gave me money for a hotel room and food on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A local nonprofit founder drove me to Chicago and from there I got back home to Tennessee.

<div>No one from the Fargo Police Department has apologized.

<div>I pleaded with the U.S. Marshals to get my dentures and take them to jail with me but they refused. For six months I had no dentures. Jail would not allow me to have them. You can see it in my mugshot. The one they put on the news. That photo was taken at the worst moment of my life and they published it for the world to see.

<div>While I was in jail I lost everything.

<div>My family put my personal belongings into storage but the bill couldn't be paid. Everything is gone. Everything. I lost my rental home in a mobile home park. I lost my Social Security income. I lost my health insurance. I lost my doctors. I lost my dog. I lost my car, a Chrysler Sebring convertible and everything inside of it. I lost brand new clothes and shoes that I had just bought. I lost tools, cables, a battery charger, a tire inflator. Everything.

<div>I missed Halloween with my grandkids. I missed my 50th birthday. I missed Thanksgiving. I was released on Christmas Eve but I was stranded in North Dakota with nothing so I missed that too.

I don't think I ever will be.

He was admitted to the ICU, where it was discovered that he had Type 2 Diabetes and had gone into HHS (Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State), a life-threatening medical emergency.

<div>On Monday, Robert was transferred to Froedtert Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. He is still a long way from recovery, as several of his major organs are not responding as they should. His medical team continues to work around the clock to stabilize him and restore normal organ function.

While I was wiping the shelves, one of them gave way, sending two $500 scopes falling. I caught one in my right hand and one on top of my foot. Crisis averted, phew, until I saw my boss looking at me with complete shock and horror. Damn new kid!

<div>We are reaching out to help a Connecticut man who endured unimaginable hardship. For 20 years, he was held captive in a room, subjected to abuse, starvation, and neglect. He was rescued last month after courageously setting a fire to gain his freedom.

<div>This brave individual, now at 32, is 5'9, 68 lbs., had been trapped in this horrific situation since he was just 11 years old. He had been deprived of basic medical and dental care, education, suffering both physically and mentally from the abuse he endured.

<div>She also will require reconstructive hand surgery. The bullet tore off quite a bit of her thumb and index finger. Ordinarily, they would amputate, but because the thumb is so important, the doctors will try to save it.

<div>We do not know what lies ahead, but we do know that, at the least, she will need months of rehabilitation and care. During that time, we want her to be able to focus on her recovery and family…not what’s bound to be staggering medical and household bills. And as for her kids, we want to make sure that they have everything they need, because that’s what she'll worry about most.

<div>Hi, my name is Dena Street and my sisters Lori Russaw, Abby Macia, and my Mother Michelle Macia are all fundraising for my sister, Tori Macia. On March 21st 2024, she suffered a serious neck injury due to the actions of a new individual in her life. Since that day, she has been in inpatient medical care in Lincoln, Nebraska. After spending 3 weeks in a hospital bed, unable to walk, move her arms, and do even the basic things to care for herself, she underwent spinal surgery on April 11th.

<div>She regained some of her strength in her arms and movement to her left arm, but is still not able to move her left leg without assistance. That surgery created a new issue and she is now unable to swallow food of any kind. They placed a NG tube to give her much needed nutrition and have been doing swallow studies in hopes to get her back on a normal diet. She has unfortunately not passed these studies and can’t swallow even an ice cube at this point, but it’s still her favorite part of the day. She had a PEG tube surgically placed yesterday, that allows her to get nutrients directly to her stomach through the abdominal wall.

<div>She has been placed in a long term rehabilitation facility where she is expected to spend at least the next 8 weeks. The staff has been amazing and she is working tirelessly to get back to herself. Hopefully she will regain the ability to live a normal life, but we still do not know.

<div>It is so important to me to help my sister, because she never deserved this. I am running this fundraiser to help reduce the burden that she will face with medical bills in addition to the loss of income since she was hurt. She had just started a very promising new career, and just a few weeks later, her entire life is upside down. She is a single Mother of 5, and has had family rally around as much as possible, but it has not been easy from a distance.

On January 11th, 2024 she was in a horrible accident in her 1986 BMW. <span> I started this project to help out with her family's day-to-day activities. <div>League 42 tries to embody the spirit of Jackie Robinson, our namesake, who was born on this day, Jan. 31, 105 years ago. In 2021, we erected a lifesize statue of Jackie at our baseball complex inside McAdams Park in Wichita, Kansas. Recently, that statue was cut off just above Jackie's shoe tops and stolen from its rightful place. It was found in disrepair and cannot be repaired As law enforcement searches for the culprits of this crime, we remain devoted to our mission of providing low-cost baseball and education opportunities for our 600 kids, ages 5-14. They are as heartbroken over this theft as any of us and we are determined to replace the statue. We also use donated funds to operate our facilities and education initiatives, which include Bright Lights, Passion Project, Bats and Badges and Full Count. We are devoted to helping our 600 kids in any way we can. We also are working to install better security around the statue area and new lights and artificial turf for two of our playing fields. Support League 42 Inspired by Jackie Robinson

<div>Hi, my name is Shannon and I'm fundraising for Jolene's daughters Kevina and Kaleia.

<div>On Monday January 16, 2024 Jolene passed away. She had finished work and was waiting for the bus, she slipped on some ice and fell face forward into the snow. She tried calling 911 but the call was dropped. They called back, but she had gone unconscious. She was found over an hour and half later. She died of hypothermia. Her girls have a long road ahead of them. They are still reeling from the loss of their dad 6 months ago.

<div>The funds that are raised will be used to cover the costs of funeral arrangements and things that will be needed for the girls. Kevina (21) will be taking guardianship over Kaleia (14). These kids have had to grow up much too fast. Let's help make this transition a little less stressful for them.

<div>Brittany Watts suffered an agonizing miscarriage in the bathroom of her home in Warren, Ohio on September 22, 2023.  As she was hemorrhaging and writhing in pain, she had no way of knowing that the miscarriage was only the beginning of her suffering.   She could not have possibly imagined that the most private situation of her life - the same private situation that thousands of women in this country experience every year - would leave her demonized and fighting for her freedom.

<div>Brittany did nothing to cause her miscarriage.  Her doctor had told her that her 21-week pregnancy could not survive, and she would miscarry.  When the bleeding and the pain from the impending miscarriage got severe, she did the same thing that many  women who miscarry at home do.  Brittany went into her bathroom, miscarried into her toilet, and flushed. What happened after that is something that should only happen in Margaret Atwood's Gilead, and certainly not in the United States of America.

<div>Within hours of Brittany's admission to the hospital for her life-threatening hemorrhaging, police removed the toilet from Brittany's home and destroyed it searching for fetal remains.  Brittany, a woman with no criminal history, was charged with felony gross abuse of a corpse, even though there is no Ohio law dictating the "proper" disposal method of the remains of a miscarriage.  On November 2, Brittany sobbed as she sat in a courtroom listening to police officers describe the details of the most intensely personal moments of her life and then vilify her to the world, all while being recorded by local news media.
</div>

<div>What is happening to Brittany is truly terrifying.  We must help Brittany as she endures and fights this injustice, and we must ensure that no woman will be victimized this way again.  Those of us who support Brittany are asking you to please contribute to help her as she struggles with legal expenses, home repairs due to the destruction of her bathroom, medical bills, and expenses for trauma counseling.  Any additional monies will be used to advocate for better laws, educate medical personnel and law enforcement about those laws, and increase awareness of issues surrounding pregnancy loss.

Justice for Brittany Watts

<div>Hi my name is Kim, my mom’s best friend Jill was walking the two pups. My sister Lisa posted this on her Facebook page about the attack. I’m trying to raise money to help with vet bills for Nelsey Torres (the victim pups owner). Last night, one of the dogs (that reportedly lives in this vehicle with 3 other dogs and the owner) attacked these two small dogs that were being walked by my mom's friend. Linda the little chihuhua was killed and Sophie is critically wounded and my mom's friend has injuries as well. Police are looking for him. He lets the dogs off leash and police have been called on him before this incident which now resulted in this tragic event. I’m trying to help to hopefully ease some of the financial burden from this tragic Accident. She is on a fixed income.

James “Jimmy” Nowak

<div>Hi, my name is Mindy and I am raising money for Sara Stone, an AMAZING woman who is going through a plethora of serious health issues that require expensive out of pocket treatments and medications. Sara has been recently diagnosed with Chronic Lyme disease with arthritis, Neurological Lyme disease and Epstein-Barr. Sara has had undiagnosed Lyme disease for 2 1/2 years. When she received her diagnosis last month she immediately began a 28 day treatment which had horrific side effects. On top of that, the treatment actually aggravated things further and caused additional co-infections. Because of the late stage Lyme disease Sara must now undergo liver and kidney detox treatment as well as treatment for Lyme disease, which has completely taken over her whole body. Her joints, bones, brain, and immune system have been affected and if it isn’t treated it could cause a stroke, or she could die. At this point it is unknown exactly how many months these treatments will be needed, but Sara will need to undergo several 3 hour treatments per week with a 1 hour commute each way for at least 3 months. Costing thousands of dollars out of pocket. Not to mention the financial burden of maintaining her home and caring for her daughter while she’s away from work to receive her treatments. If you don’t know her personally, she is a self employed small business owner, a mother &amp; a bride to be. She has organized many fundraisers including creating and fundraising for an All Ability Playground in the West Bend community. Sara is a strong, hardworking, proud and independent woman who would never ask for help even in a time of great need like she is in now. And anyone that knows her knows that she would help any of us if the situation was the other way around. So I’m asking please help me help my friend and at least help lighten the financial load so that she can focus on making a full recovery.

Medical Expenses and Bills

<div>We are starting a Go Fund Me for Courtney and Megan Pederson to help pay for medical and travel expenses for Megan, who is just 19. For the past 4 years, Megan has been struggling with the rare syndromes SMAS and MALS. It has caused her to be unable to get nutrition into her body in any form. In April of 2021 she underwent SMAS surgery and MALS surgery in November 2021. Unfortunately, the results were short-lived and now she is unable to get nutrition at all even through feeding tubes and TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition), which is a last resort. The family has exhausted all options for doctors treating this rare condition in the Midwest. Luckily they have found Dr. Sherisa Warren, in Oklahoma City, who may be able to help Megan. We are hoping to help the family pay for any medical and travel expenses related to the care of Megan. Megan is hoping to spread awareness of these rare syndromes which many know little about. Grace in the Plains

<div>Austin Mayfield was truly one in a million who blessed the lives of countless people during his time on Earth. He was a loving son and brother, he enjoyed the company of his many friends and was a loving husband &amp; father. It is with great sorrow to state he is no longer with us as of July 11th, 2023. We attempt to take solace in knowing his spirit will live on through our words, our actions, and our kindness.

<div>Austin was welcomed into this world on January 3rd, 1987 by Denise (Mother), Lewis (Father), and Shane (Brother) in Maquoketa, IA. He grew up in Davenport and attended primary school at Johnson Elementary as well as Holy Family. He was an outstanding athlete and a student. He enjoyed playing many different sports and studied a wide array of subjects. His talents were best seen on the football field where you would witness his incredible strength working in concert with his competitive intensity. After he graduated from Assumption High School, he attended Saint Ambrose, then went on to make contributions to the workforce. He met the love of his life Ali (Wife) in 2013, shortly after they were married. Austin and Ali's love blossomed and blessed this world with 3 children: Ava (Daughter), Ana (Daughter), and Apollo (Son). He enjoyed the company of his family and took pride in the care he provided. Their family was lovingly referred to as the A-Train, the reason can be seen by observing the first initial in their names. Austin continued to enjoy the thrill of competition by participating in various running events and frequently training with his partner Ali.

<div>On Friday June 16, 2023 my husband Daniel Piedra was working for Uber when his passenger shot him in the head. He is the sole provider for our family and was unable to work for a while because he hurt his knee at his last job and had to have surgery on April 18, 2023. He was very happy to finally be able to work and bring home income for this tragedy to happen, on June 21 we unfortunately had to disconnect my husband as the doctors did not give any chance that he would survive, after being disconnected he sadly passed, the money collected will be used to pay for hospital and funeral expenses and other difficulties that may arise. <div>On June 9th, 2023 we lost our home and belongings to a house fire. Luckily my 12 year old son was able to make it out of the house and wake up his sister and her friend who were asleep in the camper. We lost our beloved pets in the fire and we are devastated. While the structure of the house is still standing, everything inside has been destroyed. We literally have to start over from scratch. <div>Quincy is a well known and beloved Brady Street regular who brightens up everyone’s day with his singing, dancing, and jokes. Quincy has also been a long time employee of Pizza Shuttle and looks forward each week to go into work where he is a favorite among his coworkers and customers.

<div>Around 2:15AM the morning of Monday, May 29th, Quincy was walking across the cross-walk in front of Jo-Cats Pub on Brady St when, according to a witness, he was struck by a grey/silver Jeep going east. The vehicle proceed to go north on Cambridge. This was the second hit and run on Brady St within a year.

<div>Quincy is currently in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital where the extent of his injuries is still unknown, however he has two broken legs and is being treated for internal bleeding near his liver.

Her eldest son, Matthew, was tragically shot multiple times while at work. He was airlifted to the hospital and where he was pronounced deceased. Leigh Anne received this sorrowful and heartbreaking news while she was on an overnight. We can only try to comprehend it.

<div>The funeral will be held on Saturday and the final cost is $15,000 with a transportation fee included to take Matt from Texas to Louisiana, his final resting place. Leigh Anne and the family are so blessed to have donations from so many caring people so that her son can get the service he deserves. We can't thank everyone enough. Aric lost the love of his life when my new daughter-in-law Samantha “Sam" Hutchinson was tragically killed by a drunk driver moments after the picture above while leaving her wedding reception on April 28th in Folly Beach, South Carolina. My son is now in critical condition.

<div>My son-in-law Benjamin Garrett and grandson Brogan Garrett from Morgan, Utah were escorting the couple from the reception in a golf cart when they were struck from behind by a drunk driver traveling 65 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The golf cart was thrown over 100 yards and rolled several times.

<div>Sam died from her injuries. Aric is in serious condition and has had one of two reconstruction surgeries, numerous broken bones, and a brain injury, he will have a long recovery. Ben and Brogan were also injured, Ben seriously.

<div>Kaylin just turned 20-years-old. She was traveling with friends when they mistakenly turned into the wrong driveway. As they were leaving in the vehicle, the homeowner opened fire upon their car and Kaylin was struck and killed.

<div>Kaylin was a kind, beautiful soul and a ray of light to anyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was a big sister, much loved daughter, devoted friend, and partner to her loving boyfriend. She was just beginning to find her way in the world with kindness, humor, and love.  Kaylin was a talented artist, an honor student, a Disney fanatic, and loved animals. She was looking forward to starting college in Florida to pursue her dream of becoming a marine biologist. She was taken from us far too soon, and we are devastated.  Our family will never be the same but we will be guided by Kaylin's positivity, optimism, and joy as we learn to live with her loss.

<div>On Thursday, April 13, 2023, my nephew Ralph P Yarl was on his way to pick up his twin younger brothers from their friend's house a few blocks away from his house. He didn't have his phone. He mistakenly went to the wrong house, one block away from the house where his siblings were. He pulled into the driveway and rang the doorbell. The man in the home opened the door, looked my nephew in the eye, and shot him in the head. My nephew fell to the ground, and the man shot him again. Ralph was then able to get up and run to the neighbor's house, looking for help.

<div>Unfortunately, he had to run to 3 different homes before someone finally agreed to help him after he was told to lie on the ground with his hands up.
</div>

<div>Ralph Pual Yarl is a fantastic kid, and I am not just saying this because he is my nephew. He truly is. At school, he is a member of the Technology Student Association and Science Olympia Team. Jazz and competition band. He is a section leader in the marching band; a scholar and one of the top bass clarinet players in Missouri. He recently earned Missouri All-State Band recognition with an honorable mention. He plays multiple instruments in the metropolitan youth orchestra. He is a 2022 Missouri scholar academy alumni. Ralph can often be found with a musical instrument. He loves them all.

<div>Last summer, Ralph attended Missouri Scholar’s Academy, where he got a full college life experience. His goal is to attend Texas A&amp;M to major in chemical Engineering. When asked how he plans to get into this university, he said, “Well, if they have a scholarship for music or academics, I know I can get it.”

<div>Ralph's teacher and friends describe him as “ a kind soul,” “quiet,” “friendly,” “well-mannered,” “always willing to help,” “super smart,” and a “musical genius.”

<div>Ralph was looking forward to graduating high school and finally getting the opportunity to visit West Africa before starting college.
</div>

<div>Life looks a lot different right now. Even though he is doing well physically, he has a long road ahead mentally and emotionally. The trauma that he has to endure and survive is unimaginable. He is our miracle. We have heard these types of stories many times, and unfortunately, most black boys are not alive to get another chance.

<div>Ralph deserves to have the future that he has dreams about. He deserves to be the light that shows the world that LOVE wins and that humanity is still Good.
