Heart Remains is a monumental light sculpture rising from the open desert. A suspended heart form is held within rib-like structures that appear both protective and exposed. Subtle movement and shifting light give the piece a quiet sense of breath and presence. At night, illumination reveals the delicate inner geometry of the structure. The work reflects the need for emotional boundaries that people create to remain true to themselves while staying soft at their core. Balancing strength and vulnerability, Heart Remains explores how protection can exist without hardness, and how the heart can remain open while still honoring its soft nature.
This project was born from a desire to create immersive art experiences that bring people together through creativity, connection, and radical self-expression. I was incredibly honored to receive the Honoraria Grant from Burning Man Project, which gave the project an important foundation and recognition. However, large-scale interactive artworks come with significant additional costs beyond the grant itself, including engineering, fabrication, transportation, lighting, installation, safety infrastructure, and on-site operations. I started this fundraiser to help bridge that gap and bring the full vision to life in the way it was intended. Community support plays a direct role in transforming the concept into a living experience that people can gather around, interact with, and remember. Every contribution becomes part of the artwork’s story and helps make ambitious independent art possible.
Funds will help cover transportation and lighting for the Heart Remains installation, ensuring the piece can be safely delivered, set up, and illuminated as intended.
