Half Marathon In Support Of Cancer Research

This fundraiser is a fight for everyone whose life has been touched by cancer. It’s a disease that changes lives in the cruellest ways, not only through the unbearable loss of someone you love, but through the heartbreaking journey that families are forced to walk together. It leaves a space that can never truly be filled, and almost everyone knows what it feels like to watch someone they care about face a battle they never deserved.
But this half marathon is also for the people my family has lost over the last few years my Nan, Shirley Sharpe, and my Uncle, Micky Sharpe. Two of the bravest people I have ever known. No matter what they were facing, they never stopped smiling, and never stopped putting others before themselves. Their strength and courage are something I will carry with me every step of the way throughout this run.
I’ll also be running for my Auntie Ruthy, someone who lived a life full of love, kindness, and laughter throughout her life, while devoting her time to her family in unwavering ways.
This run isn’t about me, It’s about remembering the people we’ve lost, standing beside the people who are still fighting, and giving hope to the families who will one day hear the words no family ever wants to hear. It’s for everyone who has ever sat beside a hospital bed, held someone’s hand through treatment, or wished for a sense of hope. It’s for those who can’t, and for those who are still fighting with everything they have.
Every donation will go directly to Cancer Research. No matter how small, every contribution helps fund the research that gives families hope, brings new treatments closer, and gives more people the chance to make memories with the people they love.
Thank you,
