HARRY’S FINAL WISH: FISHING FAMILY & COMFORT
Donation protected
Harry lost his right eye to a rare aggressive uveal melanoma 5 years ago. He didn’t waste any time - said get it out, learned how to shoot left-handed, and got on his Harley with friends just to keep on kickin'! He’s kept that attitude the entire time while running a fun WI hole-in-the-wall bar in Pine Creek, WI. It took 4 years for it to spread… liver, then lungs, and just after the first 12 weeks of treatment… we expected to hear “we have to do another 12 weeks or that it worked”… but instead were told the cancer did the opposite and spread more and it's terminal - no treatment that will cure it or make it worth the hell he’d go through… so you need to live the next 4-6 months like you want to.
Just like that… no more weekly appointments, 3-month scans, so we got 2nd and 3rd opinions with the same result… so onto ivermectin, Fenben, blue dye, red lights, but here we are… in month 6 of the 6 they told him to LIVE IT UP… & it is getting real. SO… Harry is going to do true Harry and wants to get to his 2nd oldest grandkid's high school graduation in MS in May and take his kids and grandkids fishing. The whole family is around so after the annual Hot Rods n Harley’s May 10 it’s rest up and push to Memorial Weekend for MS!
We need to PRAY FOR MAY!! We’ve also honored every wish which includes staying at daughter and son-in-law's home through hospice so we will be increasing the services to keep Harry as comfortable and peaceful as we can as long as we can.
He has not let us do benefits to date but he was adamant that HE’D ATTEND HIS OWN CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND PARTY so I think it’s only right that we let his community help us honor his final wishes to fly to MS, fish with his kids and grandkids, and get the best care in-home for the time ahead.
He truly appreciates the community and family we are blessed to call home. Thanks for anything you can contribute while we embrace every minute ahead.
