Hands That Help Toronto started as a simple conversation one evening between three friends. After spending the day out and socializing, we couldn’t stop thinking about the reality faced by so many people living without a home in our city. The lack of support and resources for Toronto’s unhoused community weighed heavily on our hearts.
This conversation did not end simply, even after our dinner, we saw a homeless individual who looked cold, vulnerable, and unsure of his safety and health. Moved by concern, we called the non-emergency line to get him the help he needed. That moment sparked a powerful idea — what if we could do more? What if we could create a network to connect students and community members to volunteer and directly support those in need?
That’s how Hands That Help Toronto was born — an initiative to distribute nutritious food, beverages, and essential items to people experiencing homelessness on the streets of Toronto. Our goal is simple: to bring kindness, care, and tangible support to those who need it most.
We are actively recruiting volunteers who want to join us in this mission. You can find us on Instagram at @handsththathelp.to and we’re always happy to share personal contacts for anyone interested in getting involved.
This cause is deeply important to every member of our team, and with your support, we can expand our reach and impact. Your generous donations will help us provide more nutritious food, warm beverages, and essential supplies to people who often go without.
Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of Toronto’s unhoused community. We hope you’ll join us in reaching our goal and supporting this vital mission.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
