For the last 5+ years, our sweet Hayden has been fighting for her life.
As many of you know, Hayden was diagnosed with leukemia when she was just 22 months old and since then, she’s had 3 relapses, a stem cell transplant and experimental CAR-T cell therapy in Philadelphia. Then in July, we got the devastating news that her cancer had returned once again. Although we’ve exercised all front line treatment options, she continues to hold her own on light chemotherapy while we search for a clinical trial she would qualify for. For some reason, the bugs in her blood just won’t leave her for good.
While Hayden continues to fight, her family continues to feel the financial stress related to her battle. The #goteamhayden community has been incredible in supporting the family during her cancer battle and so many generous people have donated directly via fundraisers and online campaigns over the last 5 years. However, Lindsay (Mom) continues to not qualify for any type of government or foundation support and Jonathan (Dad) continues to be the sole income for the family. It’s also possible that Hayden may face another clinical trial in the US followed by another stem cell transplant in Toronto if that's the route the family chooses.
A number of people have asked how they can help and the best, easiest way is through financial support. No amount is too small - any contribution is appreciated. Funds collected will go to support Hayden's ongoing treatment in addition to the supporting the family with ongoing day-to-day household expenses.
