Hayden Gives Back

Donation protected
As any of my friends will tell you, asking for help is not a skill I was born with.  So as much as I can already hear the "ANOTHER GoFundMe?" forming (trust me, I get it!),  please stick with me and read on....

2000 days.

48,000 minutes.

2.9 MILLION seconds.

That’s how long – almost five and half years as of the end of June 2019 – that our sweet Hayden has been fighting cancer.

In those 2000 days, she’s had so many treatments and hospital staysScary trips to intensive careInvasive proceduresChemical rashesBad reactions. Teeth knocked out.  She’s lost her hair more times that I can count.  She’s missed school, and birthday parties, and swimming lessons and baseball because what is leisurely fun to you and I could literally be the difference between life and death for her. She’s had her body pumped full of some of the worst kinds of poisons to help get rid of those cancer bugs that just won’t go away.

But still...SHE keeps fighting.

And she does so with an amazing community around her – people who’ve hosted benefits and fundraisers and went the extra mile just to make her smile.  People like:
- The “Hearts for Hayden” group in Mount Forest,
- The amazing people who installed a bench in her name in Wallaceburg,
- The folks at Home Hardware who gave her an amazing Blue Jays experience,
- People like Mitch Marner (and his amazing family/team) and Tim Leiper and Leo Larizza and Mike Zeisberger who continue to make her feel seen and valued and special.

The #GoTeamHayden family is second to none and we’re so blessed to know and have the love of every single one of you.

When people first get bad news, the desire to help is sometimes overwhelming. We know because we felt it.  But now – 2000 days later – the struggle continues for my sister and her family and we need this community now more than ever.

Because for most of the past 2000 days, Hayden’s family has continued to live on a single income while trying to instill some level of normalcy. They’ve maxed out any kind of contributions the government provides, reached out to every possible Foundation they can think of, have added part-time employment where they can (god bless Stella & Dot!) and tapped family and friends to help wherever they could to lighten the load.

2000 days later, Hayden continues to fight…so we are too.  And while we can’t cure cancer, we CAN attempt to mobilize this community’s support one more time. All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go to support Hayden and the Foulon family.

One of these days, we’re going to pay all of this love and support back to you. But until then, know that we’re so grateful to this amazing community for 2000+ days of loving and supporting this INCREDIBLE kid.

With thanks, always!
