UPDATE!!!
After celebrating his 43rd birthday, my dad Lenny got diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive terminal gastric cancer. I spent my 20 years of life hoping I wouldn’t lose him the same way he lost his mom, at 12, that he would escape the cancer that seems to plague the family. He has worked full time since he was 17. He is known for his work ethic and for being a great dad who loves his kids more than life. Now, he will be leaving myself, my sister, and my mom, his wife of 22 years alone. I wish I could say we are able to only focus on the emotional side of this right now, but unfortunately that’s not the case. There is no life insurance, we were all already living paycheck to paycheck since the pandemic. My mom and I have had to stop working to care for him, and he is unable to work, and the medical bills are pilling up. During his hospital stay my mother was also tboned in my dad’s car. We don’t want to be in the situation of reaching out to the community for help, but unfortunately that is where we find ourselves. We are hoping to stay housed, stay fed, and give him the best final days we can, anyways you can help would mean a lot to us. Please pass our story on to others who might be willing to help.
UPDATE!!!!
We got a call from the oncologist we had been working with. She saw that we went to another hospital system. She suddenly has new results and a new special targeted immunotherapy treatment. We are trying to start asap. This is amazing! Money will now be used for this treatment.
