This is Sue from Arkansas’ story…

"Sue Webb is the wife of a Veteran and has spent her life caring for others. For 35 years, she worked full time in the financial sector with dedication and strength. Her life changed when her husband of 50 years, a Korean War Veteran, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and later brain cancer. She chose to retire early so she could care for him full time.

Before he passed, her husband needed time in a nursing home. The cost of his care was overwhelming and drained their savings. Sue was left with significant debt that she is still working to pay off today.

Even through these challenges, Sue continues to give back. At 83 years old, she works at the VA in palliative care and patient education. When asked why she still works, she simply says, “so I can live.” Her strength comes from the need to support herself and manage the financial burden left behind.

Sue is known for her kindness and warmth. She treats everyone with care and always has a smile. Even while facing her own health issues, she never complains. She brings light to those around her every day.

Our goal is to help ease her financial stress so she can finally rest and focus on her well-being. Any support, whether through giving or sharing her story, can make a real difference in her life."
