This is David from Virginia's story…

"My name is Christina, and I am reaching out for my dad. He is a Veteran living in Hampton, Virginia, and he will turn 57 this June. For the past five years, he has been fighting leukemia. He wants to keep going, but the cancer keeps coming back, and each round of treatment takes more out of him.

He and his wife are raising three young children, ages 11, 9, and 6. They are doing everything they can to hold things together. His wife works long hours to help pay for treatment, while my dad is in and out of the hospital, still trying to care for his children and manage daily life with very little help.

Watching this from far away is incredibly painful. I live in Germany with my own two young children, and I cannot afford to travel to be with him. I wish I could be there to support him, to help with the kids, or simply sit beside him so he does not feel alone during this time.

My dad has always been strong and tried to carry everything on his own. Now he is exhausted, and he needs support. Hearing him speak about the future has been heartbreaking. I just want him to have more time with his children and to feel some peace instead of constant worry.

Any support would mean so much to our family. It could help with childcare, daily needs, and give my dad the space to focus on his health. More than anything, it would remind him that he is not alone and that people care about what he is going through."
