TL;DR - In April 2023 we lost my Dad. He spent his final weeks being cared for by LOROS. Mikey inspired me with his hundred mile bike ride, so I've decided to challenge myself with my fundraiser. 12 marathons in 12 months...

19th April 2023 was a crazy day. My Dad finally succumbed to his battle with illness and left a hole in our worlds. The next 12 months were pretty chaotic for me, but Mikey decided he was going to complete the LOROS 100 mile Leicestershire ride in September 2024. I was impressed and genuinely inspired with his commitment during the ride and that spawned a want within me to raise money for the place that made my Dad's last weeks comfortable and dignified. So welcome to my GoFundMe page, where I am going to run a marathon a month from at least April 2025 until March 2026. Then with fingers crossed, I might throw in a lucky 13th for good measure. All race entries are being paid for by me because I am adamant that as much money as possible goes to the charity and the amazing work that those people do. Not just on the hospice side of things, but on the aftercare for partners and the community work that happens on a weekly basis.
