Seniors forced to choose: food or medicine?

WE ARE 400 ELDERLY SENIORS, MANY OF WHOM WILL HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FOOD, MEDICINE OR A ROOF OVER OUR HEADS.  Please help us by giving $5 or more.

Our neighbors, after signing real estate contracts when they bought their homes, have voted to have US  pay THEIR bills!  This isn’t fair or right.   

The jump in our land lease fees from $15 to $75 a month means those who are living on $1,000 a month & fixed incomes will have to give up food, medicine or the roof over their head!

HELP US, PLEASE.  Give $5 or more to our Legal Defense Fund.
We have only 1 option: File a lawsuit to enforce our legal 50 year old contracts & keep our $15 a month land leases.

We are reaching out to YOU, to ask you to please donate $5 or more, & to share the word of our plight to everyone you know, and ask them to do the same.

Currently, the owner of each home in Oceana pays a land lease amount specific to their home, as set by contract with the Oceanside Land Company, in addition to the HOA dues where every member pays the same amount.

The Land Lease Fee ranges from $15 a month for the smaller, older homes to escalating monthly fees based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the newer, larger,  pricier homes with more amenities. 

Every single owner buying a home in Oceana signs a contract agreeing to pay either the $15 a month land lease fee, or the escalating land lease fee which goes up every 10 years. 

Now, the HOA's Board of Directors (ALL of whom own escalating land lease homes) is attempting to change the terms of the legal contracts without our permission so that Flat $15 owners will be forced to pay for the Escalating homeowners' land lease fees.

Because this is unjust, illegal and plain old not affordable to those of us Flat Leasers who live on social security and nothing else, the Flat Lease Alliance has no choice:
We MUST file a lawsuit to stop the HOA from instituting their unfair & illegal plans.

 

We need your help to do this.  
All of us old Flat Leasers have pooled our money and raised what we can, but we need more money to pay for the lawsuit.

We are asking you to PLEASE donate $5 or more to our Legal Defense Fund.
The  money you donate to this Flat Lease Alliance fundraiser will be used to fight the HOA's efforts to make us pay our neighbors' bills.

Any amount, and ALL financial contributions, will really help us. 
Stopping equalization of payments is critical.
SO MANY Oceana residents could be financially devastated if this is allowed and the wrong precedent will be set for other communities.
