The Eliashar Family Lost Everything in the Jonestown Floods — Let’s Help Them Rebuild
In the early hours of the morning, the unthinkable happened. Without warning, floodwaters rushed into the Eliashar family’s home in Jonestown, rising to over six feet in minutes.
Crissy was home alone with her three children — ages 12, 10, and 7 — and a 12 year old friend who was sleeping over. Avi, her husband, was away working his night shift in Austin. As the water surged into the house, Crissy had only moments to react. The family was rescued in the dark by a brave neighbor who woke them up, just before the house, their car, and everything they owned were washed away.
Crissy’s father, who lived nearby, also had to be rescued separately by the fire department when the rising waters trapped him.
The family escaped with barely the clothes on their backs. They did not have flood insurance. They are now starting over from absolutely nothing — no home, no belongings, no basic essentials.
Please consider helping Avi, Crissy, and their children as they face this devastating loss. Every donation brings them one step closer to safety, stability, and recovery.
