This weekend, millions of Americans are expected to lose access to SNAP (CalFresh) benefits because of a federal funding lapse. For many San Diegans, this means an immediate gap in their ability to buy groceries and feed their families.

While local food banks are doing everything they can, demand will spike overnight. Households who’ve relied on benefits will suddenly have nothing to fall back on.
