The way we care for others—especially the most vulnerable among us—is the true measure of our humanity. This year, instead of birthday gifts, I'm asking you to join me in supporting the Immigrant Defenders Law Center.
Over the past months, we've witnessed ICE engaging in illegal raids, unconstitutional detentions, and operations that violate basic civil rights. Families are being torn apart, people are being detained without due process, and the most vulnerable members of our community are living in fear. This isn't just a policy disagreement—these are human rights violations happening in our own backyard.
Immigrants facing deportation are navigating one of the most terrifying experiences of their lives, often alone and without resources. Many don't know their rights, can't afford legal representation, and are trapped in a system that wasn't designed to protect them. This is about equity, dignity, and ensuring that every person has access to justice—especially when their government is acting unlawfully.
ImmDef is Southern California's largest deportation defense organization, providing full-scale legal representation, education, and connections to critical social services for thousands of detained and non-detained adults and children each year. In this moment of crisis, their work is more essential than ever.
I'm committed to equity and celebrating the full diversity of our community. When we see injustice, we have a moral obligation to act. Supporting immigrants' right to legal defense isn't political—it's about standing up for human rights when they're under attack.
I invite you to give the gift of help and allyship today, to ensure that no immigrant stands alone.
