Defend Dawn, Defend Free Speech

Our friend Dawn Rupprecht is facing a lawsuit, one of several filed by Matt DePerno on behalf of Stefanie and David Boone. We believe all of these frivolous lawsuits have been filed in an attempt to intimidate and silence people that disagree with and push back against the Boone's unfounded attacks on our schools and our fellow community members.

Dawn has always spoken out about issues that matter to our community and has shared information she believes the public has a right to know. This isn't just about Dawn. This is about protecting the First Amendment rights of everybody in West Michigan. Court filings, attorneys fees, and related expenses quickly add up. The goal of lawsuits like this is often to make the process so financially draining that the person being sued has no choice but to stop speaking out.

We are committed to defending Dawn's rights and standing up for the principle that we should be free to share facts and our opinions without fear of retaliation.
