Cycle Jordan IV: Fundraiser
Donation protected
You might have heard about Cycle Jordan, the annual bike ride and fundraiser that supports Black youth with Down syndrome in the GTA with access to services like speech therapy. It started as an initiative to assist Jordan Isaac, a vibrant individual with Down syndrome who has a passion for cycling, and whose hero is none other than Michael Jordan (MJ). With the support of Kickback and Mandem CC, Cycle Jordan has evolved into a movement that has demonstrated its capacity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of its beneficiaries.
This year, in addition to the ride itself, we will be celebrating Jordan’s 23rd birthday - his “Jordan year” - a fitting tribute as Cycle Jordan, in MJ fashion, is progressively becoming a household name.
Diagnosed with Down syndrome at six months old, the doctors predicted Jordan would face significant challenges in life, setting his journey apart from many others. Despite these obstacles, Jordan is flourishing as a skilled athlete and creative. Since the inception of Cycle Jordan, Jordan has made remarkable progress, and so have all the recipients who have come after him.
JORDAN
Jordan (age 22) has taken speech therapy and explored many interests, such as singing and now curling! Not only has his speech improved, but his confidence has soared. Jordan is now reading picture books (his favourite is Green Eggs and Ham) and he is writing words, like mom and his siblings’ names!
SAÏDOU
Saïdou (age 7) has been able to see an occupational therapist who works with him on his fine motor skills. He is now able to hold a pencil and colour within the lines. He has also been able to see a speech therapist regularly who works with him in French. His speech has improved and he is even starting to say words in English and his native language, Pular
DJALIATOU
Djaliatou (age 9) has been working with a speech therapist to help her broaden her vocabulary. “Language has been a big obstacle for Djaliatou,” said Rachel, Djaliatou’s mom. “With the support of the speech therapist, she’s become a lot more talkative.”

DAELYNN
Daelynn (age 21), started working with a physical trainer who specializes in training youth with special needs. Children born with Down syndrome can have low muscle tone and her weekly training has allowed her to develop core muscle strength. It has also provided her with confidence as her coordination has improved. She also started playing soccer and has continued with her cheerleading.
Over the past three years, Cycle Jordan has successfully raised a total of $40,000 to provide essential support to recipients and their families by funding necessary services. We are setting our fundraising goal at $20,000 to benefit our four youth in the next year.
Presented by Kickback and Mandem CC, Cycle Jordan holds a clear mission: to empower the youth in Toronto who encounter barriers on their path to realizing their full potential. All donations go directly towards providing funding for effective therapies and developmental services.
Join us as we come together to raise awareness and celebrate Jordan, the leader who is inspiring us all as he grows in front of our eyes.
Thank you all for supporting Cycle Jordan IV.
