Help South Devon Students Make a Difference in Costa Rica!

Hi, I'm Shelley Betty, and I’m proud to be supporting an inspiring group of students from South Devon UTC as they prepare for the journey of a lifetime — a 27-day community and conservation expedition to Costa Rica in July 2026!

These incredible young volunteers are stepping far outside their comfort zones — many have never even left the UK — to work on housing and school-building projects with local communities, and to support rainforest conservation efforts alongside UNICEF.

But they need your help to get there.

Each student is working hard to raise £5,280 to cover their travel and living costs. Beyond that, they're also raising funds to take out much-needed school supplies, clothing, female hygiene products, and basic medical items for the communities they'll be serving.

From bake sales to quiz nights and sponsored walks, they're doing everything they can to reach their goals — but a little extra support could go a long way.

Why This Matters

This expedition is more than just a trip — it’s a life-changing opportunity. Some of these students have overcome significant personal challenges just to take part. They’re choosing to leave behind comfort and familiarity to make a real difference in the world.
