CORE NUCLEAR SOLUTIONS has the privilege this year to have SANDS as our chosen charity.

Thousands of parents and families are experiencing the heartbreak of pregnancy and baby loss every year, and too often, we don’t understand why and families have no where to turn, SANDS are looking to change that.

This charity was selected, not only due to it being a deserving organisation, but also because tragically SANDS have been there to support members of our staff through some of the worst times of their lives.

"In early 2025 myself and my partner were looking forward to bringing our baby boy Toby into the world, but sadly at 8 months, due to complications, he passed away, Toby was born sleeping on April 2nd 2025, and he was perfect in everyway. What followed for myself and my partner were hardest days of our lives, grief, denial, guilt and trying to come to terms with what happened. SANDS helped us from day one, with assistance from our bereavement/midwife team at West Cumberland Hospital we were given the information and support we needed from SANDS, be it direct or behind the scenes, SANDS was there when we needed support most, so thank you." - Toby's Dad

SANDS is made up of both staff and volunteers working across England, Scotland and Wales with 24hr support available, there from the first few hours to decades after. Sands offer, Support Chats, Free helpline, Sands Memory Boxes, Local support groups, as well as funding life saving research and much more!
