The pictures we have shared are more than moments of food distribution. They are reminders of what happens when compassion turns into action. Behind every bag of groceries is a family, a story, and a heartfelt thank you.

But the need continues, and we need your help.

Our goal is to continue providing food throughout the year, while also preparing something extra special for families this Christmas.

Christmas is a season of love, generosity, and giving. For many families struggling to put food on the table, a Christmas food basket can mean more than we can imagine. It means being remembered, knowing someone cares, and having a reason to smile.

Every bag of food tells a story of kindness.

Last week, because of your generosity over the last few months, families in Granada, Nicaragua, received not only food, but also hope, dignity, and the reminder that they are not forgotten.

It is easy to see the bags of groceries in these photos. What is harder to see are the smiles of relief, the gratitude in a parent's eyes, and the comfort of knowing there will be food on the table for another week.

None of this would be possible without each person who chose to give. Whether your contribution was large or small, you became part of something much bigger than yourself. You helped transform compassion into action.

I am reaching out to ask for help! Every little bit counts.

The idea is to do once again the Christmas Basket Brigade for families in need in Granada, Nicaragua.

I have organized Basket Brigades in Toronto for the last 16 years and more recently for Granada in Nicaragua, these campaigns bring not only a holiday meal to families in need but joy, hope, and the message that they are cared for.

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in Latin America. Our beautiful colonial city of Granada has been suffering tremendously due to the loss of tourism and the increased unemployment; restaurants and small hotels closed down, and people who were already struggling financially fell into even deeper poverty.

We are looking to raise funds to distribute baskets to at least 200 families, the average cost of a basket will be approximately $25 US / $35 CAN. The more we raise, the more families that can receive a Christmas dinner.

We are reaching out to you with great enthusiasm and a humble request for support as we prepare for the Granada Basket Brigade, a heartfelt initiative aimed at making a difference in the community.

The Granada Basket Brigade is a community-driven effort that strives to bring warmth and hope to those in need during the upcoming Christmas season, a time when many families struggle to provide for their loved ones. We believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy and comfort of the season, regardless of their circumstances.

Since we are not able to provide tax receipts valid in the USA or Canada, we will share a letter from the institution that will be involved, confirming the amount of money received, the number of baskets/packages distributed, as well as pictures.

100% of the money will go towards the baskets and food to be distributed. I will cover the GoFundMe fee of 2.9%, bank transfer fees, and any admin expenses necessary for the campaign.
