Campaign for WALMER BRIDGE VILLAGE HALL

WALMER BRIDGE VILLAGE HALL is a registered charity run by a small group of volunteers who operate the hall for the good of the village and local area. We host dance classes, yoga, pre-school mother-and-toddler groups as well as making the hall available for private hire to host birthday parties, wedding receptions, etc. In addition we host the annual village fete, regular live outdoor music concerts and put on a special halloween/fireworks night all to help keep the hall on a sound financial footing.
The year 2020 has so far seen us lose six months of our revenue to Covid-19 after being ordered to lockdown and cancel our best money earning events. Unfortunately just as we were ready to re-open, several parts of the roof caved in and fell into the hall below. As this damage is pure wear-and-tear due to the age of the hall and not down to any one specific event, our insurance policy will not cover us for the cost of repairing the roof, and this must be done out of our own pocket.
In addition, the engineer who performed the most recent annual service on our heating system has reported back that our boiler is an antique and at the end of its useful life. A new boiler system is therefore another large capital expense that we will need to pay out for in the very near future in order to keep the hall safely up and running.
With no income from our hirers, there is no money in the bank to pay for all this work. Do you want to help make a difference?
