I never thought I’d find myself writing a letter like this, and it’s hard to even find the words through the weight of my pride and pain. But as a mother, sometimes love pushes you to speak when you’d rather stay silent. Today, I’m writing because I need help — and saying that out loud is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
These past few months have felt like a storm that just won't pass. One thing after another has gone wrong work hours on a decline, bills on a steady flow, a family crisis that lead to my 5 children losing their father in an attempt to reach out to the police for help. Now what im left with is 5 children including a 2 month old newborn, possible legal system fees, rent is due our loyal family dog is completely out of food and nothing in my account but worry. Every day and night I try to hide the panic in my voice praying they don’t see how scared I am. I smile when I feel like crying, and I tell them everything will be okay… even when I’m not sure how.
I’ve always tried to be strong. To hold it all together. To be the mom who makes everything work no matter what. But right now, I’m exhausted. I’m stretched thinner than I ever thought possible, and the truth is, I can’t do this alone anymore.
If there’s anything anybody can do to help I would be beyond grateful. I’m not asking for a handout. I’m just a mom who’s doing everything she can, and still coming up short.
